So, I've decided to keep the toy rear end, 14bolt was just gonna be too much work to shave and convert to the 6x5.5 lug pattern, plus I can send off my third and get it back from ECGS in about a week vs spending half a month getting a 14bolt ready. I'm gonna keep the lockrite and have it cryo treated along with the new carrier and gears. Now the question what ratio to get? End game is 35s for DD and 36-37 for 4wheeling I'm leaning toward 4.56 because i'm only gonna have a 35 on the highway and I think that will make for some better mileage but I don't want to be undergeared to turn 37s plus the dana 44 already has 4.56 in it (but wouldn't be a problem to change). Not real sure what to do here opinions?

If your still going to use it for DD then stick with 4.56, 4.88 would suck for DD use.

Just invest in a crawler box... locked with 37's and 4.56's you'll break more shit. You need lower gearing.

You've driven 33s for awhile now without regearing. Having 4.56 and 37s won't be too much different.

ECGS is a good choice since they warranty their diffs.

Warranty is nice but having a spare is better, I picked up a spare on ttora with factory 4.56 already in it. It will go in the spare parts bin for when I blow it up again.

I actually don't think I want a crawl box, I'm thinking about a lefty with 4.7s in it and no crawler just 1:1 and 4.7:1

You can trail swap one in about 60-90 minutes. :)

Ehh.. I dont think thats enough options. It works, just not optimal. I was gonna do 4.7's in mine but decided on a doubler. Its nice to have the 2.3ish:1 option as well as the 4.7 and lower.

Takes less than that if you can get it to level ground only took about 30 min to pull mine in the garage and that was with the gear tooth snag

Definitely the way to go. After this weekend, I think I'm gonna get a 4.7 Crawl Box. I'm tired of having to choose between burning up the clutch or stalling on obstacles.

The thing I don't like about the crawler is that it periodically has to be completely removed from the truck to be serviced.
