Gas, solar, electric?
Had a pool growing up and man would we kill our parents gas bill when we turned the heater on. My sister has a solar cover and that helps keep the bills down. I like the solar vacuum tubes. Ugly, but efficient.

Who cares if it's overbuilt or looks ugly when it cost you nothing to build.Months after you all recommended to get my speakers off the ground in the shop I finally had a few hours today to take care of it. Built a simple shelve with the left over wood I had when I finished the inside of the shop, may not be the prettiest but simple and effective and as usual I overbuild everything
I see enough room on those shelves for bigger speakers in the future

A/C condensate pump finally croaked on the little rent house my mom owns. When the pump went out it got water everywhere. Ended up replacing sheetrock and insulation in the closet that houses the furnace due to water damage. It was a PIA because of how small the closet is. Got all that sealed up and ran a new A/C drain line through the closet wall and into the sink. Well the next day the new line was leaking because I didn't tighten the hose clamp enough (was afraid of breaking the 1/2" nipple on the branch tee) 
. Tightened that sucker down and it was all good to go! I've actually been planning to do this for awhile when I saw the condensate pump in the closet a long time ago. I wasn't going to pay to replace it again when I can buy $15 in plumbing parts to never have to F**K with it again. Luckily I had extra sheetrock and insulation in the storage shed so I was able to repair this cheaply (F***ing rent houses!

Stuff like this makes me leery about getting into rent houses.
I'd much rather get into commercial property than houses. You make more money for your time (even if the property sits for a year).

I absolutely hate the primary a/c drain line on my system. The black hose that runs from the pipe in the wall to the branch on the drain is only like 4 inches long. It' such a bitch to get everything down there twisted, stretched, turned to be able to get that hose separated to be able to clean it out. If the drain line popped out of the wall a bit further away from the sink drain it could have a much longer hose and it wouldn't be a big deal. I just don't fee like tearing out more of the back of the cabinet and sheet rock to be able to move it.A/C condensate pump finally croaked on the little rent house my mom owns. Yeah that's typical. I usually cut out as much sheetrock underneath the male fitting coming out of the wall as needed to grip it with a pair of lockable pliers to hold it out a bit. Once I'm done cleaning it, I'll fill in the sheetrock with white silicon.

Cleaning up the garage... what a nightmare. I'm pretty sure I've seen similar garages on TV on Hoarders. My plan is to clean for 2 hours a day after work until its done. If I leave the TV off I get way more done. Have I mentioned that the GSN is addictive? I love watching Family Feud with Steve Harvey.. guy is awesome! They will play 6 episodes back to back.. I've seen so many I have seen reruns of reruns. LOL

Gas.. 400,000 BTU burner. Guy said it will kill my gas bill... so it may be a one time deal or just do it in early April to get it warmed up a bit as the days are warm enough to swim.
When you know ahead of time that you're going to have a big party (for your daughter or holiday) and can heat it a full day + overnight it's totally worth the cost. But for the surprise parties where people come over at the last minute expecting to swim, it's a waste of money because the pool will never heat up on time (people do it too).
It'll also really nice when the pool is just slightly chilly and you can heat it up for the kiddo's to have one last swim for the year.
Is it really a smoker if yyou did not build It?
