View attachment 12882 Was thinking bout cutting up the old water heater to make a back yard fireplace. I need another project like I need a big boobed Swedish at pair that likes to wear short skirts and tight tops, but this is pretty cool.

Nice, but the fire door needs to be offset from the shelf, I could see myself hitting my Praise Jesus Coldbeer brain when loading more oakwood to the fire.

Mostly moved in!

Closing went smoothly. Got everything inside the house on Friday. Saturday I installed ceiling fans in all the rooms while my wife unpacked. Installed blinds and held unpack on Sunday. Still need to unpack some more and will probably rearrange things a few times, but it's coming together.

My house had a space in the garage designated as "flex space".. it could be another bedroom, or an addition to the master bath that turned it into a huge master bath spa with two HUGE closets or ??. I said fuck that.. its mine.. garage space.

I was in a meeting a couple of years ago to build a custom house for us and the floor plan that was on the ladies desk caught my attention because the guy had drawn up a ~2,300 sq.ft. house that only had two bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room. The rest of the house was the garage! lol But then I got pissed off when I learned how much they were charging this bachelor to build out this "custom" house. I think it was like an extra ~$60K+ they were charging him on top of the original cost of the house to add a couple of beams to span the open area of the garage. Basically it's like buying a Race Track edition Lamborghini, they charge you more for less features! I ended the meeting a few minutes after that and walked out. Fucking POS home building companies...

My house is 3300 with a 1375 sq ft garage. If it was just me I could easily have culled it down to 2 bedrooms. LOL Not even sure I need a living room.

I hate formal dinning rooms, what a useless space, when we move in 6 plus years, I’m really thinking of a much smaller house anyways, but with a very large garage.

My house would fit in your garage with 175sqft to spare lol

I like the ideal of having one those tiny houses, but with a 10,000sq ft garage, on 50+ acres

x2 I'm already there in my head lol

Well, it’s much better than the apartments, for sure.

Yep. Just sucks having extra room I dont need everytime I get my electric bill. One thing good about the apartment was it was exactly the amount of space I needed and no more. But I'm sure with both dogs here, this house is going to feel way too small pretty quick.

Yeah but you don’t have to worry about the extra noises, parking and your neighbor burning you out of your place.

I hated apartments, stayed for 1yr many moons ago and was too much for me.

If I had it to do all over again I would of bought a small townhouse even though I despise neighbors. 4 bedroom 2 bath house for a single guy is just silly......and to boot I bought a foreclosed crack house so I am literally fixing up stuff Ill never use. With a townhouse I could of bought land and built a cabin on it for the weekends and had the best of both worlds. Working ion construction during the day then fixing up my house at night has been a moral sucker for sure. That + the housing market crumbling right after I bought is why I am 14 years into a planned 5 year flip lol
