I poured bleach down both AC drains so fingers crossed it helps over night. Either way I need it fixed soon so it doesn't leak water up stairs and cause a bigger issue.

Likely won't help much at this point. I've cleared the drain a couple times at my house that drain into the front bathroom. Usually I got about 2 years after each clearing, but this time it clogged up twice in one season. Decided to just get a guy out to take care of it. Man, that poor soul running up and down between the attic and bathroom, sweating his balls off . . . I do not envy that profession. I'll probably have them out every year now to do a cleaning/checkup and blow it out as preventative maintenance.

I've had problems with my line clogging ever since I bought my house last yea . I've been lucky enough to be able to just suck the clog out with a wet/dry vac so far. Then I run some cleaner through it.

Use that green gobbler annually in the Fall and you will not have an issue as long the pipe was plumb correctly.

Also if you ever have to replace HVAC, ask for a float switch in addition to the primary and secondary drains. The float switch will turn off the unit regardless if there is a back up on the lines, it’s not uncommon for wasps/bugs to plug both pipes, and that’s where the float switch will save you from water dumping in your attic and walls.

If you visually see a sag in a drain line, you will want to correct that, that is where the crap builds up too.

If anyone has ridgevents installed on their roofs and tall trees near the house, you will want to make sure the drain pan stays clean as well.

Mine is not an attic mounted unit. The drain line runs in the crawl space under the house. Theres not enough room to physically crawl under there though. I'll have to pull the access covers and see if I can see any sags in the line and if I can get under there to do anything about it.

If it keeps clogging up then you have something stuck in the line that you aren't getting out. Might want to run a small pipe snake or compressed air through it to see if you can push it out.

Seems to be mostly bugs. Need to put a screen over it outside the house so they cant get into it.

After trying to snake the AC drain without luck, shoving an air line it and taking out a section I was loosing my mind. Went to home depot and got some of this stuff. Poured an application in each AC drain and then washed it down with boiling water after 20 minutes. Thanks @Taco Loco it seems to be draining now. Hope it stays that way.

No problem, you will probably need to do another application within a month, annually(Fall season) is a preventive measure, soon as temperature cools. I'm only recommending another application because of the past clog.

Clogged AC drain line. Discovered the drain does not tie in to the P trap under any sinks. It ties into kitchen sink drain vent in the attic. Thankfully the backup drain is working and started dripping on the back porch to alert me.

Waiting for some joints to dry on a section or pipe I cut out, cleaned and put back to see if this fixes it.

That's normal.

, I helped family out back in my high school days, I knew enough from that experience, not to do such work for 15 years

Yeah I'm hard headed and the $ was good at the time. No way in hell I'd go back to it now at my age, although it did keep the weight off
