I was never too impressed with some of the Goodman products, maybe the shit made at post 2008 when they practically outsourced everything for Mexico manufacturing

Hopefully you have one of there better units!

My house was built in 2007-2008 time frame so hopefully I did! Haven't had any issues with it otherwise so that is a good sign. Couldn't believe how fast the bearings seized, from the time i noticed the noise to bearing seizure was only 2 days. The fan is made by Jakel, not sure where it's manufactured but I'll put a few beers that it's probably in china. The bearings are sealed unfortunately, so there's really no maintenance to be done except listen for the failure when it comes. Welcome to the disposable world.

My last house was built in 2006 and had Goodman water heater and HVAC. HVAC condenser had an issue maybe 3 or 4 times in the 6 years we lived there. Luckily it was all easy fixes. I was just unimpressed by its performance. But it worked.

Well that little motor is used to vent the exhaust so it can see some pretty extreme heat cycling on the bearings. It lasted about what they all will.

I guess time will tell but I'll keep my fingers crossed there's not any large cost issues in the near future. It's a 92% efficient condensing boiler, I am a fan of the operating costs :)

Yep I figured being exposed to those extreme heat cycles that it would be the first thing to likely go bad on me. almost 12 years is good enough for me, also I don't know how much the previous owners used the heat so it could have alot of hours on it, but I keep my house a few degrees cooler than most in the winter. I have a gas fireplace with a blower that keeps the living room warm and a heating blanket so that even if the house is cooler i'm still plenty warm :D

The actual blower motor will prob be the next item to fail on you for the same reasons. I've replaced my blower once in 20 years. And I think the condensor fan motor once also, but the condensor was a used unit I picked up when I swapped out my uncle's entire system so that's to be expected. I upgraded my evap coil/expansion valve and my condensor a few years back to get away from the R-22 refrigerant so I'm curious to see how long it lasts.

Got this cabinet from my girlfriend's grandma. Not where everything is going to stay but it's going to work pretty well as a bar cabinet. Going to build a bar top beside it with a couple of stools as well.

Bought my mom four new outdoor LED fans for a Christmas present. Installed them a few days ago. Our last ones were about ~8-9 years old and were rusted out from the ocean's salty air.

Yep, these were installed at the same time as the big sail over the pool. We like them but we never realized/were told the gaps in-between the sails were going to be that large. So it gets annoying having to move your chair with the sun during the day.

Installed a new LG dishwasher, what a total PITA, it took most of the morning. old one had a hard copper line wtf? it was also connected directly to power, didn’t even bother using the plug, different tile floor, under old one, so leveling was a pain.

Added 10ft stainless water line and repurposed a heavy duty extension cord for the new power cord, that now plugs in.

Nice man. We have the LG front loaders, they were the biggest ones they sold a few years ago. But they also have the stainless fronts, very pretty. Wife wanted the top load but she also wanted a laundry folding station over the units so front load it was.

IMO the front load washers don’t clean the clothes, especially towels or sheets as well, because they use a lot less water, that’s what we just got rid of, yeah gonna miss the bottom drawers and convenience of storing stuff on top.

I delivered the old W&D last night to someone in need from our church, I did keep the drawers, I’m gonna put the drawers out in the shop and use them for?
