The view this morning. I am debating on the name for my kayak... It will either be Skunky or Sinky, as I have yet to catch a fish from this thing and I had to paddle like hell back to shore today because I had taken on so much water that the ass end was under water. I am learning that no matter how much I want this to be a bay boat, it is only good for flat water.
Man fishing here has been shitty! Tides have been super high and not much tide movement at all. I need super low tides and normal winds!!!! Should turn around this next weekend (I hope). I will say the boat is running alot better with the lower temps.
Out of all the folks fishing near me today, I saw 2 hard heads and the smallest flounder I have ever seen caught. I think I'll head to protected water tomorrow morning and fish the edge of the grass.... Hopefully it's a bit better.
I am fishing the seabrook flats on the bay side of the Toddville bridge. I think I'm going to put in on the opposite side of the bridge tomorrow and hit the lagoon. (Protected water) I know there are a lot of spots in the kemah/seabrook area... But if my boat is going to swamp every time there is chop I just can't fish them most days.
Looked at that area look like there are not as many tidal drains as I thought. I would try to find where a back lake or marsh has a tidal drain channel and fish the start of the drain on a falling tide. Or fish the flat above the drain on a rising tide. Fish move up onto the flat on a incoming tide looking for bait fish that washed up on it. Also a good time to fish mangroves and shore lines.
1dow down yesterday morning. Funny thing is the feeder it was shot it off of, was just s set up the day before,
Didn't think I was gonna bag anything though. The deer were more interested in chasing each other than eating corn. I even got to see two young bucks spar each other.
You had a good day. It wasn't that great for us as it was too clear and all the ducks were flying high. Saw hundreds of em hauling ass around 100 ft high. Sucked.
