I see you are getting ready.
I was helping a friend at his ranch as well. Cutting a more direct road down to this feeder

Pretty cool to see a coral snake in the wild. They are not as common as they used to be.

Down here there are, not uncommon to mow over 1 or 2 in the Spring around the house.
I wasn’t going to kill it, but land owner is about to work that fence line, and he has exotic/overpriced cattle.

nice, he must have good size ranch with equipment like that.
He and his dad's company bought that Cat a few years ago for some development projects and they are finished so now it will spend some time at his ranch. He has about 800 acres.

My buddy found a coral snake near his house, he grabbed some thick welding gloves and that little thing (maybe 10" long) bit into it and he said it bit hard.. did not break the leather. His wife and I both told him he was a dumbass. He said "yeah, not doing that again". lol

He said he knew it was rear fanged but he said the amount of force that it bit with was way more than he expected from something so small.

Think they are rear fanged also. Either way the welding glove was a pretty "hold my beer" move.

They are front-fanged and don't need to chew to inject poison.

Less than 24hrs later and a doe found some corn, good sign, considering the owners(non outdoorsy folks) didn’t even think there were deer in the area.

War on the squirrels is going fairly well. 6 last week, and 7 so far this week. I'm thinking if they keep this up I will have got rid of enough to make a difference in another week or 2. Then put out some fox urine where they chew on my house and a few other spots.

Squirrels are thin around here, haven’t fished in weeks, I guess the juvenile fox is keeping them at bay.

I would like for them to be thinner. There are little to no natural predators around here and plenty of food. I have tried to put out bird feeders and humming bird feeder in the past but these damn tree rats tore them both up.

My neighbors just got one of these, like 2 days ago. I need to see how its going. I don't really have an issue with them, but I have nothing they want I guess.

Not sure the new deer lease is going to work out...

The neighbor/cousin saw my feeder which is almost 200yds off his fence line, he called yesterday bitching at his cousin that they have 4 “pet” deer blah blah blaw etc...

I think I’m going to pull my equipment today or tomorrow and walk away from that BS. I have plan B & C, it’s not like I don’t know other land owners that the Orange has done work for.
Just going to move along, and the outdoor life continues.

I have some money saved up, solely to just purchase my own place, but ideally for the amount of land/location I really need about 100K more based off past/current listings.

That sucks man. I know of some property up here that will be coming up for sale at some point, guessing withing 12-18 months. 100 acres, house, creek in the middle, deer, pigs, and turkey.
