I've been to one of those ranches on a cull deer hunt. It's not the same. The guide could tell us what was going to happen.

"Here in a bout 10 minutes the feeder's going to go off. 3 deer will come from the right, 2 from the left, and 4 from behind us. I want you to shoot the second one that comes in from the left."

That's just not my style of hunting.

High fenced exotics are a completely different thing. They're called exotics for a reason. Because they're not native to the area therefore there's not going to be a chance for fair chase without traveling to other parts of the world.

They pretty much are, deer don't look like that naturally. Most of those are 2-3 year old bucks with a skinny bottle neck and a rack twice the size of a mature natural 7-8 year old buck would have. It's just plain stupid and they fill up my Texas trophy hunters magazine with ads for that bullshit every month. So much so I didn't even update my subscription. I wouldn't even consider that a trophy more like a " look how much money my dumbass wasted on this deer".

I would much rather have a 140" buck I killed fair chase than a 175" buck I paid $5k to shoot off someone's back porch. And I'd also rather have a 120" buck I killed with a bow than a 140" I killed with a rifle. But I've never gotten around to bow hunting so I don't have to worry about that right now.
