Finally bought a drill press. Ordered a 16 speed 3/4 horse Jet 15" bench top unit. I've wanting one for a while now and been looking on CL for at least a year. Decided to just say screw it and buy a new one. UPS is gonna love me, it weighs 179 lbs!

I have two 29 piece sets of Irwin Cobalt bits for it. Should be good to go there. I did order 2 drill press vices though, one is a quick release/clamp style and one is the cross slide vise that allows it to act like a small mill.

I know it won't work for the boushie crowd but I recently stripped and polished the external surfaces of my hi-lift and replaced the pins with new ones. The stripping of the surfaces makes the jack work much better. Mr. Burke shared this with me years ago and I finally listened to that part of his instruction.
Also rented (for free) a ball joint press from Orielly's. Worked like a charm for removing my frozen u-joint.

I recall seeing that in Mr Burkes video on HiLift usage. Grind off the excess flash from the castings. I should do that as well.

That's pretty much the truth. Only way to find it for sure is buy another and then it will show up.

This strategy works great with pickle forks. I have 6 of them. And I'm sure next time I need one I'll end up with a 7th one.

Damn thing wasn't shipping out! Cancelled my order and bought the floor standing model off Amazon. Even though it says it ships free via Prime, its still going to take a week to 10 days. It ships via freight and then I have to be home to sign for it. Glad I got the floor standing version as well. Now to figure out where to put the thing.
