This weekend accomplished:
- mounting exhaust which required rebuilding transfer case crossmember
- bleeding brakes
- started the front shock tower mount

This week I am hoping to get the front diff fluid in, steering adjusted and done, shock towers in. This will get me back on the ground and rolling again.

To do list still:
- finish steering
- mount shock hoops/shocks
- clearance/extend front driveshaft
- rear leaf replacement (thinking F150s right now)
- 4.7 install
- shocks and shock mounts in rear
- ubolt flip on f/r
- beverage holders in cab
- weld on rear diff armor

So far I replaced the broken stud in the hub spacer, greased the shackles, mounted the hub spacer, tightened down and cotter pinned all the steering, and have one shock tower welded on. It looks like right now I will be able to reuse the rear set of shocks from the parts 4Runner so that will save me $60 until I can get back to them properly if needed.

Got it back on four wheels today and took it for a poser run. Nothing rubs/touches so I'm going finish bracing and move on to the next part.

I need that bar and some more so I can fit in with the FJ guys at Jambo.

This your way of coming out of the closet or are you going to start a mobile tanning salon like Sean?

Guess I should put some spinners on it next.

Figured I would bring a couple of pics together for an overall update on the build.

Rolling after SAS

The rear shock relocation and diff armor installed.

The rear leafs should be installed this Friday/weekend. Planning to bring the front back down some and use bump stops to protect the high steer.

I had to improvise a way to support the 4Runner that high up. Looks like a set of tall jack stands are in my future.

As for the F150 leaf springs. I think they will be pretty straight forward to install. The majority of the install notes I found said the front moves almost 11" forward and the back moves ~5" forward. I'll post up accurate numbers once I have them done on Sunday. Until then here is a comparison shot of the worn out stock leaf drooping compared to the F150 leaf on the floor. It is roughly centered up where it should mount.

When the rig is sitting level the front looks about right so I might end up leaving the leafs alone for awhile. At least till after Jambo.

I tried to get the leafs lined up as they would mount on the axle for comparison.

Figured I would take a minute to update the progress...

To do list still:
- install u-joint in front axle
- 4.7 install
- ubolt flip on f/r
- beverage holders in cab

There are a few little things to go back and make better; but right now this is where it is at. Pretty damn close to wheeling; worst case scenario I'll bolt the transfer case back together with the stock gears in it for Jambo.

After Jambo my to-do list has grown again...

Fix the power steering fluid rain, quiet the exhaust, and find out why the front tires are so damn stiff. Oh yeah... gears!
