I can't do March or first part of July.

I would say later towards when it cools off again. I just hate being in the woods with summer heat and bugs.

I'm down for that!! Plus the water levels should be down a little to allow for some low water crossing trails. I'll bring spare unit bearings. LOL

The bugs and snakes will still be out; but at least the heat will be cooling off some.

End of July would be great for me because no school. But I can do something later than that as well. Probably couldn't pull off anything much sooner than July.

So end of July for Arkansas?

Sounds good to me. Nights in the 70s will be perfect for the hammock. Days will be a little warm but shouldn't be too bad as long as we don't run across another tree that takes 3 hours to clear. Plus cooling off in the river will be an option.

@tx_shooter and I were talking tonight and we are thinking Oct. Let it cool down, let the streams get lower.

I am thinking Lincoln National Forrest in July, Arkansas run in Oct. This takes advantage of good weather in both areas.

Sept is the start of deer season up there, do you think those backwoods hunters will fell some trees over the trails again?

While it is a what if I do not know if I would alter my plans around that. Did that last tree fall across the road as an intentional act or act of nature? Besides; we will have chainsaws and I am sure there will be a few sling shots to defend ourselves if necessary.

That's Mr Asshole to you
The tree was nature that fell up there last year.

Would you recommend that as an optimal size?

Yes 16-18in CS are easier to work with for long periods and chain/bar/parts are easy to find.

I don't think you would need to buy one, many others already own one or more
