Apparently the crush washer wasn't seated and my rear diff started leaking from the fill plug, refilled, realigned and hopefully reliable till I can pull it and reseal it

Yezzur, turned it off so it can thaw, came to work around 10:30, figured I'd mess with it when I get home from work

The only A/C we have is one apt cause it's on the west side of the building and doesn't get the 3pm breeze! :D

Now that I think about it, maybe I shouldn't post this! :?

Mines on Auto and pretty much runs 24/7 set at 70... knock on wood.. no freeze ups.

Three things cause ac units to freeze. No air flow over evap coil (blower moter out, dirty filter/coil, or contactor on outside unit stuck while inside unit set to AUTO shuts off the blower when the t-stat setting is reached.) and low freon or restriction in the freon line (plugged orfice tube or broke TXV). One other (all be it rare ) is for one to freeze up just because it never shuts off, but that will usually tie back in to one of the first three reasons causing the system to not cool like it should in the first place.

So if your unit tends to ice up setting the fan to ON will help keep the ice down when the t-stat shuts town the cond at the set temp because the air flow will melt said ice.
