IT wasn't my ride, but I changed out hte suspension on my girls Infiniti I30. The front went well, the rear made me its bitch for a while. But persistance and a lot of swearing paid off.

After I put the 3.4L in the 4Runner and convert to rear leaf springs, it should be good to tow the Dilux around.
