Speaking of trailer maintenance, I ordered a new 4-prong connector whip and trailer chains for mine. I need to re-do the deck as well.

I feel like every few years I'm replacing the 4 prong connectors. On my big trailer, the plug for the 7 pin is much heartier. I might switch that over to a 7 prong and just leave the other 3 blank next time I need to replace mine.

Your truck has a Gen-X barbed wire tramp stamp with that plate frame...

, that's correct. Truck came with it and figured I'd leave it on there. I've been meaning to get the matching tattoo but haven't gotten around to making the appointment yet

Replaced the rear shocks on the S60. Super easy and only took a few mins per side. The coils & bumps are still about ~6 weeks out as they are special order and ship from Sweden.

It does not seem like you have had that one long enough for the shocks to need replacing already.

We've had it for 12 years at this point. Got it new off the lot. I started driving it during Covid and I've put ~67,000 miles on since then.

I realized last night that I put rear brake pads and rotors on it 4 years and ~50k miles ago. Feels like I did that a few months ago.

My wife’s XC90’s air ride suspension just started acting up. When she got home the air compressor in it just kept running. I tried to restart the car and put it in off-road mode and dynamic mode and it didn’t do shit. I got to the fuse and relay panel that houses its fuse and relay and I smacked it a bit. Compressor turned off. It’s under warranty so we are taking it in. But without the compressor she looks like she is a lowrider. . Looks pretty slick actually.

It rides like shit.. It has the adjustable air ride and when its working it has 3 or 4 ride heights... I wish this low was one of them. I do have the urge to put my last name across the rear window in old English lettering.

Replaced the safety chains on my trailer. Old ones have seen better days. Ordered a 16’ length of G70 and then just cut off what I wanted and made a shorter 10’ transport chain once the safety chains were cut to length. Probably should have used an angle grinder but my bolt cutter managed to cut through with some brute force

That has been an upgrade on all my trailers. Had a co-worker lose a trailer back in like 1989 and it was due to shitty chains attaching it to his van. Sucky part is that on that trailer was a freshly rebuilt and restored late 60’s Chevy pickup.

We lost a 20' enclosed trailer a month ago. The chains lasted about 2 seconds grinding across the concrete before falling off & then trailer brake engaged and threw it in the ditch (thank God for that). I rewired the trailer brake and trailer in an O'Reilly's parking lot

damn that’s gotta suck! My dad lost one of his trailers years ago and it hit a utility pole either due to shitty chains or not hooking them up. Either way I always try and make sure the coupler has a locking pin on it and the safety chains are connected and in good shape. Not worth the risk, for your own equipment loss but especially with all the sue happy people these days.

+1 for the locking pin. I have extras in the trailer tool box and refuse to tow a trailer without the pin in place. I had a trailer loaded with square bales of hay stacked 5 bales get lose one time. The chains kept it attached to the truck but that was a wild ride I never want to take again.
