Pulled the upper of the two overload leafs in the Dakar packs out. Left the D29XL in. Like the ride height better (bout .5" lower) and I get a nicer ride to boot.

Feels nice. I think that first overload leaf engages too early for my liking. Anyone need spare overloads? :D

I only need one! :) lol :( I thought I was getting a smoking deal when I saw they were 50% less than other sites - only to find out they were the same price! :) lol :o

Noticed while under there I've got a pinion seal leak...not enough to dribble on the ground (there is no fluid on the ground under the truck), but enough that the pinion flings it on the gas tank, exhaust, underbody, etc.

Looks like tomorrow's project is check the breather system and replace the fluid (it needs it anyway now that the Trac bar has been on for ~1000 mi), clean up and re-test drive. Kinda hoping the breather is clogged, otherwise, Monday's project may be ordering a pinion seal and nut from the dealer :-\

Wouldn't ECGS warranty cover that???

I would think so, but would you rather:

Drive an hour to ECGS, wait for them to change the pinion seal, drive an hour back, all of this on a weekday so you have to take time off of work.

OR

Buy a pinion seal and nut for like $25 at the dealership and be done in an hour on a Saturday of your choosing?

I'd spend more in gas driving to their shop and back than I would on the seal and nut.

If the breather is clogged or the diff is overfilled, those could both cause the issue. Checkin' the breather today when it stops pissing rain. Also gonna change the diff fluid since the traction bar has been on for a bit, and slightly underfill the diff. Normally with the rear diff I just fill til it dribbles out the fill hole, but that's actually slightly overfilled for both our diffs, and with heat that could push oil past the seal.

Could just throw a torque wrench on it and make sure its snug. I had mine leaking a bit, threw a torque wrench on it.. never leaked again.

that usually works best if your fill your diff with it. :)

True, but you could at least get ECGS to pay for the new pinion seal and nut :)

Oh and I emailed chase the other day FYI about pinion nut torque for the solid spacer.

180-215 ft-lbs

yeah i guess it could have loosened up a bit and caused some leakage.

Srebrenica? You're gonna kill 8000 Bosnian muslims if the problem persists?

I'd suggest Egyptian or Libyan 1st...
