What have you done to your ride lately?

Analyses over at BITOG suggest it is a very low viscosity synth.

As for the gears continuing to cut metal, it's also only about 2500mi on this gearset, so they may still be breakin' in. Either way, ECGS has me covered on that one.

:)

Toyota boasts that the new prius is a maintenance free vehicle and I believe it. Oil changes on par with the TDI Jetta's at 10,000 miles and it will only get better in the future.

IIRC my 7 is 10k on the oil. IIRC 8 quarts too.

It would take 2 Mazda's to need 8 quarts... maybe 3. lol

I hate when that happens! I have no ac in the truck and may do the same... in the meantime I drive the car.

Lamest part is that it's not driveable as is, so it's loaded on a trailer in front of my house ready to be dropped off shortly

Wonder what the max weight for these U-Haul vehicle trailers is supposed to be, lol

AAA Premiere for the win! :)

Changed my engine oil today, topped off brake fluid, and installed some cheapo rock lights for Hidden Falls. My front 4:56's should be here in a week.

Not less - just three points. :) So I guess you could say less. :)

It is more about letting the engine vibrate as it will. If you don't want it to vibrate - balance everything! lol Solid motor mounts still allow the engine to vibrate and even in very high HP applications - you will still see THREE motor mounts. :)

If the whole length of the power plant & transmission needs some longitudinal strength, then have a member that is isolated from the engine mounts (the trans mount is sometimes called the 3rd motor mount). - The strength of the cases should be good provided there are no nicks or cracks - polishing can help :) Nicks and scratches will propagate over time - something to think about the next time you use a screw driver or some-some when separating two cases - mallets work wonders.

I'm tired but I hope this made sense. :)

not sure about the vib thing. I was told that sometimes those cracks like that can form from the rear freely spinning at high rate of speeds and then the wheels touch ground and the force or absorption is sent back towards the front, as a result of the excess torque.
