After finding out some interesting info about my 4.7 gear set; I have had to reassemble the original transfer case to stock. Reassembly is done and I am headed to the store for gear oil to fill it up once I get it bolted back in. Hopefully it will be back to driving again before dark.

That's Mr Asshole to you
Installed a U-bolt flip kit today. The top plates that Toytec uses in their kit are stout as hell. They look to be 3/8" thick.

He has an old design from Marlin that was from the 90s. The splins are different or something like that.

The gears are from the original 4.7 design set. This isn't a horrible thing except that I need a 21 spline input for my current setup and there are no more 21 spline inputs to be had because the original gear setup is gone (talking the late 90s). They are still good gears that will run great in my rig when I go with duals. For the more complete story click here.

It isn't going to stop me from Jambo; I just won't have 4.7s this year. So hopefully before next year I will be duals with the 4.7s installed.

Out on Mojave Road. Second day I got a nail in my tire. ARB kit. Problem solved. Within an hour I land from a four wheel sail and the brakes go out. Cracked line at the fitting going into the caliper. Zip tied a vise grip holding the flex line shut. Man with rears that aren't adjusted correctly, having one front brake is a helluva ride! Toured some old cabins then stopped early to McGiver a new brake line. Took a large rusty nail and riled an appropriate angle on the the tip with the file from a Leatherman. I then annealed the tip and worked the line with the nail for about an hour... BAM! New flare and all buttoned up with enough brake fluid left in the resi to get home. :)

Nice trail fix! I had a SS brake line fail on me as well. I was backing my trailer into its storage spot when it failed... 2 miles sooner and I would have had it fail with my trail rig on it going 65 mph. Got real lucky. Did the same zip tie a pair of vice grips on the line to limp home. I now carry a spare SS line... Just in case.
