What have you done to your ride lately?

Nice! This week is headlight week on here, got some new ones coming also.

It was surprisingly a lot easier than I expected. Only real problem I had was that I couldn't get the shroud to seat on the projector correctly. After about an hour I figured it out. That one light took me 4.5 hours including a run to Lowe's for some Dremel attachments a lunch break. I think I can get the other one done tomorrow in an hour and a half or so now that I know what all needs to be trimmed and how everything fits together.

Installed my new Kenwood DNX891HD head unit in the taco. I also added a secondary USB port in the spot opposite of the 4WD selector knob on the dash that connects to the back of it. Started to also mess with the gaggle of backup cameras that I have and find the best ones to hook up to it (front and rear and maybe some underside ones). Just wish I had more room behind the radio for wiring... its damn cramped!

Added an inline Alpine amp to the Tacoma last night. It's the one I pulled from the red truck a few weeks back. It was an easy install. Space is very limited. Thank god the amp has long inputs. Ended up mounting it right above the cabin air filter. It is nice finally having some amplification on my Alpine type R components. Just need to install the subs now. That may take another year or so to do :)

Also added a rear facing 10in LED bar in the bed of the tacoma. I won it at Wheelers for wishes this year. It should have 2 purposes: get off my ass and some bed light when needed. It puts out some great light with 7 -10w LEDs.

Where did you mount it?

It's centered under the middle sliding glass.

Yeah, at night it just shines a lot of light into the bed which reflects back into the cab. Plus if you are using it for a work light it casts a huge shadow behind the truck, usually where you want to work or see.

It's mainly for a bed light. The glare wasn't bad at all on my initial testing. I got tired of looking at it in my garage mainly. It will mor than likely end up on the red truck in the future.

I got the rear wall partially upholstered to cover up where I removed the rear storage bins. I did a test fit with my sub box and it looks really good at least to me. I only covered the sides to tie in the 2 plastic pieces on the C pillar so I didn't affect how the box fit. It's tight but it works.

I have been testing my patience lately. Last night, around a campfire, I removed the old zipper from the RTT cover and started sewing on the replacement zipper. So far it took probably 3 hours to remove the zipper and about 4 hours so far on sewing the zipper on to the cover - with about 8-9 more hours to go. I guess I'm going to look like Rosey Grier for the next few nights. lol

It rained on the way home from the dealer yesterday and the tires had no more shine when I got home. So my task today was getting some shine back on those bad ass street tires Toyota put on a trail edition vehicle.

something that is not a load range E. The duratracs have my attention and so do the general grabber AT. Probably going to keep the build mild. Stock tire size, skids and sliders.

I like the new bfg ATs they will be the next tire for my GMC and work truck. I have not been impressed with the duratracks seen numerous get destroyed in the oilfield. Used to have the general AT2s on the taco back when it was stockish they were descent but didn't balance worth a damn
