It was suggested to me to put a piece of rope between the blocks of wood to make some "proper chocks". 
But new part should be here tomorrow. I didn't think about it until later, but I bet I could have salvaged the cable assembly from my 91 since its pretty close to the same thing and its not used.

Mine is still on jack stands waiting on the "correct" c clip from RCV. Guys have been very helpful. Just mailed me snap rings instead of c clips. But it was free. Hopefully it will be in he mail today and I can remove the jack stand mod. It's been 3+ weeks now.

I'll get with you shortly. Think I have all the brake issues worked out but had to get a battery before I could test drive it. Going to put the battery on this weekend and do a power steering flush and then I'll let you know.

I installed the new parking brake cable assembly in the 81. But the bell crank bolt in the back was seized. Let it soak with some pb blaster for 24 hours. Now to see if it will adjust tight enough. Also adjusted the driver door catch, before it shut so damn tight you almost couldn't get it unlocked. Now it seems much better. Don't have to slam the door either.

Bedrack will get built this weekend. It's just not going to have hoops like the one I tried making. It'll just be two flat bars across the bed to hold my bed basket. I'll get back to the hooped one after a little redesign.

Update on this. I would not suggest ordering from him until he gets his shit in order. I was told 2 week turn around time on my order. Today makes 5 weeks and still no box or tracking number. When I've asked him about it the only response I've gotten is "I'm shipping some out in the AM". I just assumed one of those was mine but I guess not. I just PM'd him asking for a refund so I can buy Nathan's wireless kit instead. I have until next weekend to dispute the claim with Paypal. So if I don't get a response I'll be doing exactly that.
Do it today. I think Paypal has a limit at 5 or 6 weeks
