Tried to replace my rear-most u-joint. Thing is not budging. Instead, I had a race team spare (only had 5,000 non-race miles) that I dropped off to shorten the front driveshaft by an inch - to take it from manual tranny to auto.

Had a burned out tail light on the 81 so I wswung by VatoZone to get new bulbs. Anyhow, come back out and my charge light is on? Voltmeter is reading close to 14v.. odd. So I shut it down and start it up again, starts fine.. light was off at first but came on within 10 seconds. So I go inside and ask them to test the alternator and battery. Everything checks out fine. Got in it and drove off.. the light went out after a bit. Not sure what is going on there but I think I'll carry my portable jump start box with me for a bit.

Funny part is the 81 is the most reliable truck I own. Sits for 6 months and I can walk out, pump the pedal 6 times and it fires up. So this charge light is a surprise. But it hasn't come back... Yet. But the alternator is in pretty bad shape. It looks like shit. So worse case I put a new alternator and regulator in it. But it's getting hotter out so I'll be driving the taco in the heat. So we may not see what the real problem is until fall.

Low beams



Day light was still out. Low beam. These seem pure white vs my hid that has a hardly noticeable, but light blue hue

Steering got stiff after doing a little back bay wheeling (kayak fishing) in Matagorda with Chad last weekend. Was terrified that it was the rack, but a good soaking of the intermediate shaft U-Joint fixed it...

At Discount again, another flat on my Accord, Haz insurance pays off again!! $22.50 and new tire, so far this the 3rd flat on 3 different tires in the past 6 months, so 3 out out 4 have been replaced and slightly upgraded from the org. tires all 3 for under $70, I went ahead and bought the 4th tire and kept the org tire, probably gonna order another drag wheel for that tire and carry full size spare.

25k miles on old tires, so basically whole new set of tires has cost me $260 with all new Haz certifcates and life time rotation & wheel balance, now I just need to find a deal on a new drag wheel, cause Discount wants rape me for ordering one wheel
