Well, redid the parking brake on my go's f350. That was a fun one lol. Quick questions for the masses though. I have developed a leak out of my 3rd member in the front, where the driveshaft connects. Anyone have some part numbers and solutions? I am sure it is some seal that after 200k has decided to crap out on me.

Disco the driveshaft and snug down the pinion nut. Might get you a few more miles out of it.

Yeah I'd try to snug the pinion nut up first and if that doesn't work if get a TOYOTA seal to replace it with. The pinion nut is 30 mm if I remember right.

Does the front diff use a crush sleeve? If so snuging up the nut will fuck up the pinion preload

Worst case change the seal and Count how many turns to remove the pinion nut when you replace go back the same number of turns.

I posted up in the deals thread about the Beltronics radar detector on sale for over 50% off. I got mine and used a mirror mount and remote control.. Mainly to mute it. I like it. It does get in the way a little but not too bad. I'm short so it doesn't bother me.

Went out to some family friends last night for fireworks. On the way the truck developed a very high pitch squeal from the front driver side. Pulled over and saw the reason. Luckily it was an easy fix. It did put a nice groove in the backside of the rim.

Bingo! There is a tiny little cotter pin behind it to hold it in place. It somehow went AWOL. That was the shuddering I felt in reverse. Next time I'm going to safety wire them in place.

Wrenchathon at Robs place!! Woot

Let's do it

Depending on the date I could be up for it. I can bring an E-Z-Up for shade if I remember to pick it up next time I am near it.

Same! I'm down depending on the date too.

I'm in also, pending date!

So when are we gonna put robs 4runner together

I can probably make it down as well. Not that I'm useful for anything.

Let's do this! The next couple of weekends are going to be busy but after that I'm open. Lets pick a date that works for as many people as possible, throw out some dates that work and I'll work it out on my end. I have everything I need already minus a new clutch to put a drive able truck together.

Just spoke to Rob. He is under the weather at the moment but he will take a lot at this thread when he gets a chance.

Damn I have been sick for over a week now. Finally broke down and saw a doc on Thursday, fucking bronchitis. On 5 different meds now and still feel like crap!

Nice, Ill toss some meat on the smoker and talk the wife into cooking the rest.
