Today after work I changed the brake pads, fuel filter, and windshield wipers. Really glad I got those windshield wipers done.

Also I was able to trace the trans hoses from the trans, through the radiator, and then to the cooler before going back to the trans. This makes me even more curious as to the high trans temps I have been seeing. No matter what I have a new radiator and hoses coming in and should be picking up some TRD parts for the SuperCharger on Saturday.

You should re plumb that trans cooler and delete part running through the rad its a known failure point and can toast the trans if it ever goes out. Secondly are you sure your getting an accurate reading on the trans temp I'm assuming its an aftermarket gauge and probe somewhere in the system so no telling how or where it was plumbed in.

Also what is normal trans temp seems to be a question of some debate based on what I've read. If the issue persists you might consider a deeper pan with cooling fins assuming such a thing exists

Since I am going with a new radiator I am going to continue to continue to run through it for now. I did locate the trans temp gauge and it is just a couple inches off of where the hard line and hose meet coming out of the trans.

The idea of the normal temp - yeah; talk about a joke. Some sources say anything under 220 is fine and normal; some start sweating bullets and drain the fluid if they hit 200. I did not see anywhere where Toyota actually stated a normal operating range. I have been talking with Blake a lot this week comparing our trans temps during similar weather and driving conditions. It appears my setup only runs a little cooler than his at this time. We both noticed that anytime the ambient temp gets near or over 100 degrees there is no keeping the trans away from 190-200 degrees.

That said - I have found more than a few notable places that stated anytime the temps go over 200 degrees for a period of time the fluid starts to break down. The higher the faster so try to stay away from 200. With all this in mind; I am more than happy that I ordered the larger external cooler.

I'll pass on that offer today; but I did just order the dynamic tensioner for the SuperCharger and a new belt. Going to pick them up tomorrow and install them.

I may have some serious sale items soon. I'm going to try to sell the pig or just take the TG housings (never driven), hi pinon 5.29 detroit (never used), rear detroit (never used), Propane set up (never installed), 18" shocks (never used), etc, etc, etc, etc. I have to go over when she is at work and extract the last of my shit. Then its time to sell the M. In my life I pray for sales. :)
