Anything you can do to improve the MPG's? Snorkel, efan, lightened pulleys...etc...
Hell at 500+ a week, I'd be getting a Prius or something if it was just for school & work.
Oh I know the gas won't make up the difference. But it's what I want and that's worth the extra money. I've pretty much accepted that I'm never going to keep a vehicle longer than a few years there's too many that I want to own and I can't own them all at once so I have to do it one at s time. It runs in my family. My dad is the same way. I actually just was at the insurance office and asked them about it. $28 a month more for a 2015 trail edition. I've got a while to think about it. Not gonna buy until March.
Since you are driving so much I would look into buying a diesel Jetta for about $5K. Drive it for a few years while in school. Then when you are done with school, pull the motor and put into a Samari and build it like they did that one on Xtreme 4x4. Toyota axles and 35s would take that rig almost anywhere.
Lean codes when I was in hi country. Now at sea level. Time to start looking for issues.
I took off the cross bar pieces of the roof rack on my 4Runner. I am not going to use it and do not care to have it chewing up MPGs.

Think he ordered parts to make his 4R sit higher.
