What have you done to your ride lately?

Anything you can do to improve the MPG's? Snorkel, efan, lightened pulleys...etc...

Hell at 500+ a week, I'd be getting a Prius or something if it was just for school & work.

I don't think there's anything that will improve the mileage much. Not enough to matter, anyway. If there was, everyone would be doing it. And that still wouldn't solve the issue of the truck being extremely uncomfortable and rough riding. Makes the long commutes absolutely miserable. I can barely make it to school (1 hour 10 minutes) without having to pull over get out to relieve my back. I almost bought a Corolla a couple months ago as a second vehicle/DD but the dealership wouldn't honor the price they had online once I got there. I would suck it up and just sell the truck for a car but I still want something with 4x4 for hunting and something big enough to pull the boat. If I absolutely have to have a truck I can use my dads when I need it.

Averaged 16.6 mpg this morning driving ~70 miles over hills and with a decent crosswind/headwind depending on the direction. Think the vacuum lines made a difference.

Oh I know the gas won't make up the difference. But it's what I want and that's worth the extra money. I've pretty much accepted that I'm never going to keep a vehicle longer than a few years there's too many that I want to own and I can't own them all at once so I have to do it one at s time. It runs in my family. My dad is the same way. I actually just was at the insurance office and asked them about it. $28 a month more for a 2015 trail edition. I've got a while to think about it. Not gonna buy until March.

Since you are driving so much I would look into buying a diesel Jetta for about $5K. Drive it for a few years while in school. Then when you are done with school, pull the motor and put into a Samari and build it like they did that one on Xtreme 4x4. Toyota axles and 35s would take that rig almost anywhere.

Lean codes when I was in hi country. Now at sea level. Time to start looking for issues.

Solid plan.. or shove it in your 4Runner.

Better just sell me the supercharger. Much easier. ;)

Looking at some of the ebay prices for them, you are probably right. :)

I took off the cross bar pieces of the roof rack on my 4Runner. I am not going to use it and do not care to have it chewing up MPGs.

Yeah; that too. At least the crossbars are easy to take down and out back on if need be.

Update: holy crap it was creepy quiet inside the 4R this morning as I drove to work.

Swapped out the passenger side wheel bearing. I thought the right one was bad but apparently not. Took me only ~45mins to swap it out. The new bearing seems nice and has a different grease in it than the normal white grease.

Installed new grade-8 9/16" bolts, washers & nutz for my front bumper. Sucker is solid now! (Thanks Anthony)
Installed a new set of 100W foglights that I had bought a lot time ago and were lying around. Much brighter than the 55W fogs I had in there before.

Ordered some more stuff today. Now the waiting begins. Still need to order a few more things in a week or 2. After that it will be finding a free weekend to install.

More stuff. Pretty much leaves it open to interpretation... I'll guess double dong and a large container of lube. Am I right? If not.. WTF is "more stuff". lol
