Sorry to see this but it is making me like the CBI hybrid more and more.
I think you'll need to reinforce it. It'll probably just shear again bc the metal is so damn thin. My bumper reinforcement sheared after a month of fixing it the first time.

The front of the frame really needs to be redesigned with thicker material but the IFS cross members make it next to impossible to plate the frame. Unless your intent on some major frame redesign in cutting it off and rebuilding you'll just be better off with a much lighter tube style bumper

Cracks, crackety crack. Working on the truck tomorrow, I'll check mine for cracks. I've winched a few times, but haven't had it under too much load.

Okay then here is a picture of my college assistant nude...

Is there a way you can get a piece of backing metal in there to weld the two frame pieces to?
Crumple Zone
(I did close that gap after I burned the bottom part that was already aligned.)

Turned the heat up a bit and it worked nicely - just had to be careful not to burn through.
Thank you Boyd and Drew. Now to put a little filler weld in a couple of places, paint and mount. Then I to dismantle the leafs down to just the top leaf and mount with a spacer to simulate the thickness of the other leafs and cycle. Homework is almost done.
Cleaning up the 'Jersey locktite and weld in some of the missing metal.

Only two standoffs? Not for hard core use I see. Which is fine for a new 4Runner. Looks pretty.
