What have you done to your ride lately?

Well turns out the positive terminal was a little loose... so I'm thinking it was pulling extra current to compensate. Anyhow, I've put in a 150A fuse and holder for now. The manual states that it can pull 180 amps at full tilt boogie... so if it blows 150's I'll put in a 200 and if it blows those I'll have it serviced. <fingers crossed>

Damn near burned the Taco to the ground and didn't know it. This was the fuse for the Oasis OBA. I knew this thing could pull some current but DAMN!

300A fuse and holder. The fuse blew but not before it melted the holder.

funny you bring that up... I'm going to rewire my winch solenoid and put an in-cab contol - was thinking a 200 amp fuse as well.

Yeah, I wasn't too hip on it at first but I'm warming up to it. I have rockers for the cordora switches and was thinking about that but the 12 volt guy's design is growing on me.

That would be cool.. I bet you could do the same setup with the Cordora switches easy enough... I'm pretty sure I've seen the wiring schematic somewhere on the interwebs.

Yeah they're out there. Just need to ... do it!

Modified my GPS mount last night. Welded two bolts head to head and then cut one side down a little. Tapped the ball mount, threaded in the short side of the double-header :) and used JB Weld to keep it in place as well as build up the area around the ball mount. I then cut a secondary slot into one of the RAM mount arms to allow the GPS to face a different direction as the ball. Finally, I cut down the tightening handle to allow it to clear the gauge pod. Now I can see my gauges much better.

Inspected for damage after Saturdays meet and did preventive maintenance.

Removed CO's and cleaned

Took apart, cleaned, and greased up my TC UCA's. Not to happy with the damage to them or the corrosion after less then 6 months. I was greasing the ball with Teflon spray after washing it. I do this after every 4x4 trip and it still has pitting. I also pressure wash & lube it about once a week due to salt. The main bolt is wearing inside the spindle. I'm sure that's fine, but still don't like it. Grabbed some Seafoam lube yesterday and Ill see what that does.

Also found a boot that was ripped off a shock while rotating my tires before I cleaned and lubed the rear leafs

Also need to drill some new holes for my tag and mount it a little higher after I flatten it back out. No idea what did that Saturday.

Also purged the muck out of my U joints with new grease. Tomorrow will be alignment since the last trip has my steering wheel off by 1/4 turn.

That's what sucks about uniballs, they wear out quick. It's worth it for the extra travel though IMO

Hell yea, I like the added 1-3/4" +/_ down travel it's providing with the shocks, but less then 1/2 year and 10k miles is crazy. I guess they would of lasted 1/2 of that if I didn't keep them clean and use good products on them. I wrote TC a nice e-mail with pictures and asked them to explain how this is possible or provide me with a fix. I told them I wasn't able to buy new uniballs twice a year and laid it on pretty thick. If your nice enough and write a good e-mail I have gotten hooked up by vendors in the past. Fingers crossed I have some new uniballs being sent out in the mail soon. Now that I think about it I paid by credit card and they warrant items......justnot wear items. Hmhmhm.

Yeah but what I really don't get is that no one has created some good silicone cups or some-some to keep them clean!!! I mean WTF!!! When I was last speaking with Sarah, they said they were getting something but that was months ago! I guess China was closed!

My truck looks like a hockey player right now.... no grille.

Got a buddy repainting it to fix the chrome-bleeding chips...

Sean - are yours pitted like mine? Looks like pits from some sort of impact almost.

Pack it full of grease and sew some sort of neoprene booty over them. They would need to be crush proof to work for us in the winter due to tons of ice to deal with on our trails.

I don't see why I wouldn't put a cup on top of this!! Just braze 3 screw bosses on there or drill and tap 3 small machine screws and some kind of cover!

That would be great for the top and you could throw a zerk on it. Gotta seal the bottom somehow as well I would think for max protection but the grease should keep the crap from coming through to the top.
