Damn, if you got a 2 mpg increase out of that it would take a few years to pay for its self.

On->off off->on......yep! I think I have it set right now but still not sure? Just have to keep messing with it.

Hmm that's weird. Sounds like the settings for sure. I've read over the directions a few times. Maybe try this again?
8. Reconnect negative (-) battery cable to battery. Start the engine and allow it to idle.
Using a hand held thermometer (positioned near the inlet hose) or the vehicleís temperature gauge, monitor the temperature. When the coolant temp is slightly above
normal (or desired temp.), turn the knob counter-clockwise just until the fan turns on.
From now on, the fan should activate at this temperature setting. Adjust as necessary to
maintain desired temperature.
After the engine has been at normal operating temperature for ~45 minutes, adjust overflow tank coolant level to be at ~50% capacity.

Yea thnx but I have done all that 100 times over and I have an ultra gauge for exact temp readings. Its not that big of an issue. When I say it has a mind of its own the on/off temp setting changes by itself from time to time. I set it for on-192 and sometimes it starts @ 197? Ah well like I said not a big issue as most of the time the truck never runs hotter than 186.

Seems like a lot of money for not much gain? Seems it's only real advantage is being able to turn it off should you get in deep water.

I drive around 50+ miles mon-fri for school and other stuff. 1.5 mpg may not seem like a lot, but over time it'll be a worthwhile investment and pay for itself. Especially with gas prices going through the roof.

Plus having control of the fan might not be a bad mod for you Randy. LOL

The clutch likes water what are you talking about, the plop plop plop lets me know it's still working. But my tacoma has been retired as a daily driver so I guess the MPG means nothing to me.

Yeah I can understand that. I didn't know your retired the tacoma. I'm guessing the chevy is your DD now? I thought it was still busted up?

No it's been fixed for a while now(all be it not the way I would like it), but it sits 90% of the time too, I have a work truck and I just drive that everywhere I go.
