Well it's usually posted with that comment toward 37s but I discovered first hand that is indeed impossible, and I just couldn't live with my self spreading such lies
But I really think 5.29s would be a better choice for anything bigger than 33s on a fist gen tacoma.

Thats what I did, had them mounted the cut/pounded away till all was well. Only mistake I made was trimming everything with the fender flairs off, had it all nice and smooth no rub, then I put the flairs back on and didn't even think about trimming them

Removed my gas tank.

Removed the fuel line - The entire fuel line.

Cut off 1/3 of my bed.

Cut a hole in my cab.

Removed a cross-member.

Removed myself from the shop.

...getting closer.
