I have the Dakars, wait til they get dirty, yours will squeek too. I recommend waterproof bearing grease between the leafs.

I did that.. after 2+ years they will squeak. At least mine do and I lightly coated each leaf with Mobil 1 synth grease before assembly. I have some graphite "paint" that someday when I get off my ass I'll paint each leaf with. Its designed for dump truck beds and other industrial applications, so leafs should be good. of course I won't know for sure until I decide to take them apart and do it. But I "painted" the driveshaft I built for the Raisin with the stuff and its super quiet. So I have hope.

You pull the leaf packs apart? I just jam a pry bar between them, clean them out and spread some grease in there. It lasts about a year. Your idea sounds better, but much more labor intensive.

When I initially put the leafs in I had them apart so I did it.
