Why would they need & how often do they need to be rebuilt?

Just like any shock, they go bad over time. Or you can revalve them if you want.

What is the cost? For a rebuildable vs non RB? And what is the longevity?

2yrs vs 3yrs, 100 vs 300?

Rebuildable Fox start at about $150, Billy 7100's start at 145. Figure 2 years or so.. maybe longer depending on use/abuse. My OME shocks started to crap out after about 18 months. I pulled the rears and while they were not toast, they where not great. I think Sam bought new ones (I gave him mine). I've had my Fox rears on for a year and no issues at all... so far.

My dad came over last night with a few old school body working tools & gave me a few pointers on beating out some of the damage the right way. He is trying to talk me into fixing more of the damage & replacing less sheet metal. We tack welded a bracket to the body in 2 places & pulled with a come-along & beat on it with the correct shape tool to work the body lines. I think that in the hour we worked on it we where able to get it looking much better. The areas we worked still need alot more work, but here are a couple pics just to give you an idea.

The tools:

All about the slide hammer

Slide hammer is alot of fun, you just have to be carefull not to pinch any skin at the back. That can hurt.

Wish I would have gotten a pic of the tabs welded on with the come along anchored to my taco. Made it easy to do a controlled pull, looked really rigged though.

Sweet so when are we Gonna fix my bed side. Seeing what you were able to get pulled out I think mine might just be fixable rather than replaceable.

I'll give it a shot as long as you are prepared to live with the outcome.

I'm just gonna pay some mexicans to do mine.

I would too if this was anything other than a trail rig. Let's face it, the creampuff won't be winning any beauty contest either way.

You racist bastard! I'm sure there will also be Guatemalans, Hondurans, etc at the shop you take it to

LMAO!
