I went home and checked a few more things at lunch but still did not find any problems to the no starter signal problem. Gave the key a bump just for the hell of it and it started right up? I killed it and started it another 10 times. WTH? I'm thinking that this is a ground issue and that I am going to add a few extra grounds today after work.

Were you drinking beer last night? Trying to start the yota with a house key or something....IDK but sometimes these vehicles have humor too you know....

Last time I had these types of issues, it ended up just being corrosion on the battery terminal connectors

My wife's car, the AC went out ended up being a bad cell in the battery, but damn I ran that thing for a month or two on a bad battery....

They are good and I made sure of it.

Since I know the starter is good and I know the starter relay is good but I still occasionally have starting problem I think that it must be in the ignition switch itself. I have no intention on replacing that so I think I will just go ahead and install the starter button I bought a few months ago and see what happens.

No but I am very confident that it is an electrical problem and not the starter contacts. If I jump power to the starter it spins everytime. Everytime I turn the key and nothing happend (not even a click) I get my volt meter out and find NO power to the starter signal wire.

Before any of my starting problems last night I got the transmission shifter linkage replaced, it seems to be working well. Threw the rear driveshaft back in - still need to get the front one done. Also solidered and shrink wrapped up the getto wiring on the sending unit the guy sent me and had to drop the tank again to get that installed. Put about 5 gallons of gas in it (there was still 1 or 2 left in the tank) and the gauge seems to be working just fine.

Also my liquid Caddy's showed up today. These are pretty cool, not sure I should have spent $50 on them but I like them anyways.

That might help you get your sponsor, showing your willing to pay any cost to protect the spillage of valuable beer which is still higher than the cost of gasoline.

Rob, the Liquid Caddies "Golf Bag Mount" also works great on a belt. I REALLY impressed my wife one time. She was having a Bunko party at the house, I was kicked out to the garage while her and 20 women sat around and bullshit'd and drank. Well I discovered the Golf Bag Mount would also allow me to carry TWO beers (one in each Liquid Caddy) on my belt.. and not spill it. So I had to come in the house to show her. She was not impressed. But I figured you and I are like minded folks so you would be. :D

You know while they are not currently paying me I did modify my intake system in support of my favorite beer

Hell yes, good to know. Next time my wifes freinds are over then maybe I will not impress them with that trick!

Sometimes you have to use thier product endlessly and that is form of a stock option, almost; which maybe or not a good deal down the road. We are definitely heading in the right direction though, at least it's not a damn energy drink...lol

Just knocked out some little stuff last night. Put the front drive shaft back in, did some measuring for the sliders, made a front diff breather extension, fixed drivers side manual hub, put the front skid back on ect.

I got the additional spacers for the crossmember from Bud Built yesterday and painted them last night. I am hoping to get them installed today and try again to put the skid on, I still might have to trim to corner of it if it hits the front drive shaft but we will see.

Cruising arounf on YT, I found a rear bumper build that I really liked. Here are some pics of it, doesn't look too hard to make. I am still hoping to throw a quick bumper together before HF, but I am thinking of how I could make it in a way that it could be turned into this down the road. This one was made by Addicted offroad but he says that it has to be made on the truck and do not call unless you plan to drop your rig off for a couple of days.

Thats a good looking bumper. With Todd's mad tube bending skillz you should be able to knock that out quickly. :)

Got some GM style horns for the 4runner, mine was missing all together. Problem was that the wiring to the horn button on the steering wheel of the Toyota are hot all the time & switch on the ground, but the GM horn ground to the chassis thru the mounting stud. The solution was a 20 amp relay. Full time hot (from original horn wiring) on 87 & 86 on the relay, gronund from original horn wiring to 85 & 30 to the horn positve. Easy deal & works great.

Rob I, working on getting my horns wired up. Problem is my OEM horn wiring is shit. I have the relay needed. Kinda lost on what I need to do. Im running a new wire from the horn button into the engine bay but kinda dont know where to go from there. This type of stuff isnt my specialty

Alright, I am thinking here......I know on a standard 4 pin relay you have 30, 87, 86 and 85. The wire from your horn button is just a signal wire, opposite of it on the relay should be a full time hot. Then #30 (I know for sure) should be a ground, and the other should go the the horn. Can't remember which goes to what, I'll let you know in the AM (when I am sober).
