Holy Hell man! Is that going in your truck?

No (not yet anyway :D), I thought it would look nice here!!! :D

What a day to not have my camera with me! The cross member is now flush with the cab. Now to clean up the cab and get ready for 'burn in!!'

Hmm.. good pics. I was thinking about doing the same thing but I'm not too thrilled about cutting the cab that much. There is not a lot of room in there now. Hmm...

So what will our wheelbase be with the link mount location? Could you have gone 2 inches back and avoided the cab cutting or is that just how it is?

Just make your wheel base longer and if you find your breakover in now crap then get bigger tires.

That's what I'm thinking as well.

This will give me a baseline of 111.5". Easily extend to 114-115.

Otherwise to get the weld in there, my baseline would have been 115.

If I was to do it again, I would just persuade the center section with a hammer.

I really will only loose about four beer cans worth of space. I'll take a picture of the inside of the cab. For now I will leave open (want to get on the trail) but plan to make two caps that will be spot welded in to seal it up.

Here's a picture with the sheet metal cleaned up. I may also make a sloped pan to cover the center section - as I said, if I was to do it again, I would just have massaged it with hammer and dolly.

Cool.. my goal is 110-112. But its a ways off before I link it. Maybe this winter.

Dam this thing has come a long way. Wondering why you didn't go ahead and 3 link the front as well? Hopefully I will get going on one of these soon. Joyce is tired of being beat up and needs to get to her designed job of being a tow/recovery vehicle. Good job all the way.

Thanks! 3 link may come but not until I get some fun from this thing.

In the next day or two I hope to that the cross member burned in and the rear to be on the 4 link.

Looks good but doesn't look like it will do much in the way of a frame brace

If you saw what was under it you would!!! lol

I was doing it for one side and only did it for the other in hopes to give both sides! :D

(the x-member is moved about 1" forward from where you see it in the picture)

The frame was banged up on the passenger side and I have to say if I didn't have so many other details to tend to, I would have taken that plasma and cut that bitch off and build a cage from the nub!!!
