This man is losing his mind.... and I'm reaping all the benefits.

WTF are you talking about? And I'm expecting you to be here for the engine swap.

Why have we not talked about this Blake? Can you weld and do you have a welder?

I can weld. It's been a few years since I've done it but nothing I welded has fallen apart yet. We have a little wire welder and a AC/DC Arc welder.

That's the main reason I'm doing this.

As I told Zoom just this weekend - building the PigUp has been the best owner's manual you could buy!!!

My dad bought our 67 Camaro when I was about 8. We were going to restore it and that's how I was going to learn about cars and such. Well 12 years later it looks exactly like it did the day we picked it up except with more shit piled on top of it. He seems much more willing to help with this project though since the money is coming out of my pocket instead of his lol

I had the same prob with my 64 Chevy stepside, it looks the same way it did when I was 14 only sunk deeper in the sand from armadillos..lol

Why? Unless you have some serious frame rot to deal with I wouldn't bother with that.

Everything under the body is covered with rust and needs to be cleaned and painted. Figure it will be easier to do with the body off. Plus it will make pulling the engine a lot easier.

Ah - pulling it off and leaving it off. Meh, your call. I'd wait till you were closer to dropping in the new motor though. How long could it take a couple people with sanders to hit the frame and paint it?

I know but I'm itching to work on it and I have nothing else to really do until the motor swap. Plus with these 60-72 hour weeks it's not like I can knock it all out in a day or two. Just finding something to fill the time.

Yeah, know the feeling. I'm about out of little stuff to work on my 4Runner and I don't have enough money to tear into the big stuff I want to.

I'm pulling the body and engine then cleaning up the frame and having a leaf rearched. After that it will be a stand still until the engine is in.

Could repack all the wheel bearings and locking hubs, change the rear diff fluid, replace the brake lines, replace the pads on all four corners, and flush the radiator. Just a few off the top of my head.

Unibody? It has a full frame under it sunshine..lol

Let me say it differently - the body is one big fucking piece to lift off. Even if you take apart the front clip; that is still a good sized piece of metal to lift off.
