I'll trade you a eight ball shifter for your stock one. :)

Yeah, that ought to motivate a buyer.

Just slap a TRD sticker on it, everyone knows white trucks with blue beat to shit beds sell like hot cakes:rolleyes:

On a more serious note, what are you getting for a tow rig?

It depends on what my trail rig is. If I get a Toy Truck, then I'll buy a 4runner to tow it. If I get a 4runner, then I'll get a Taco to tow it.

I hate to say it but dump your idea for a midsize tow rig, I know rob will dissagree with me but once you stack a rig on a trailer with gear you're going to be pushing almost 9K weight wise (5k built rig, 2K trailer, then another 1K for gear/extra fuel plus what ever is in the truck) While a tacoma or 4runner can tow that it certainly won't do it very well and it will put some serious wear and tear on the drivetrain over time.

I don't plan on towing this thing everywhere. Just want to have the option.

Randy is right. You are pushing it a lot to tow with a Tacoma or 4 Runner. Its a 5-6K max weight. Even with trailer brakes etc your really pushing it. Its just a matter of time till something breaks on the two rig or you have something sketchy happen while towing.

I would just buy a nice flat bed trailer and bribe buddies that own full sizes with beer to pull it. Or step up and get a full size yourself instead of a Tacoma.

I don't plan on using a trailer, and those old trucks/ 4runners aren't very light at all. Besides, once I get it running good and reliable, I won't need to tow it.

You planning on using a tow bar? That's the route I will be going for long distance, I've got insurance on mine already just need to go get title swapped over and get inspection and I can 55mph to BVORR....lol

A trailer is going to be next next big (tax time) investment. Even with Todds traler I have been using & my 4runner I am still under the factory tow rating & my tacoma does just fine with it, 70 mph no problem. I did add a few mods to the taco to help with towing though. I also plan on getting my rig street legal, it just doesn't seem worth all of the effort to tow it short distances.

exactly, i shouldnt have to tow it 20 miles...lol
