Yeah, but they're not hardened steel or anything. They should sheer off when you put that much force on them

grow a pair?

I used the carbide bit because the McGard lock was hardened.. I would think the stud would drill out easy. Try a good sharp bit on that fucker... I drilled out a 3/8's hole IIRC. The locking nut snapped right off at that point.

Have you tried an impact socket?

SamSter0077

Frack me..
It ain't the muscle that's a problem. I'm busting sockets over here

How about a better socket, had a very similar issue when changing my timing belt. Robbie brought over a nice 6 point socket and I was able to lean on it and it snapped loose.

Both broken sockets were 6 point. I'm gonna go to Norhern Tool for an impact socket this afternoon.

Why don't you yarble the pair I got for inspiration?

get a new drill bit while you are there... I'm telling ya.. you'd be done by now if you would just drill it out.

same as the stud.. I drilled a small pilot hole at first and then used a 3/8's bit and drilled into the center of the lugnut and into the stud.. within 5 minutes I was done. I came off easy as pie.

Frack me..
is it rusted or something, need a penetrating oil to loosen it up first? I am sure it's always been pretty loose for you, but for us big guys.. sometimes we gotta loosen it up first. Tequila works too.. lol

Bought a 20mm - 3/4" drive impact socket. Tomorrow I'll see what a 5' cheater pipe does for me

If you are going to need to replace the stud anyways; why not put a cheater bar against the nut and bust it off with a hammer? Then you just have to punch out the splined part and replace it.

I thought about fabricating a bolt on mount for my 4xInnovations HD T-case mount. But opted to just weld that bastard to the OEM Factory crossmember for now.

I tacked it with the welder while everything was in place

Then welded in a 1/4" steel support on the passenger side.

Painted up and ready for reinstallation
