I'm curious how off that alignment was to shred tires that quick.

When I replaced my uca ball joints I didn't get an alignment. Even tho I marked the ball joints and put them in the same spot as the old ones, wonder if I should have got an alignment check....

The manager at Discount Tire I talked to said it may have been a tire issue. I was in there a few weeks ago getting a nail taken out of a tire and the tires are noted as being normal wear. He said it would be amazing to go from normal wear to exposed cable inside of that time period. So maybe I will be getting a warranty swap.

I am now 50/50 making it. Today I discovered my front tires are shot to he'll and have cable coming through in a few spots. So I am getting two tires and an alignment this week. If I can get this done without breaking my bank I will be at HF.

Discount will want to place the new shoes on the rear axle and move rear shoes to front.

Yeah; like most tire places.

I should know by Wed what I am doing.

I swear next I buy tires, going to buy one with hazard cert. Week later buy the rest and bring the wheels in and then only add lifetime balance, if I need a repair or replacement, yep that's the black tire with the hazard cert!

Damn really? That's crazy. Those have got to be a bad batch of tires then

How many miles did you get out of them?

A buddy of mine got 40k+ miles out of a set on his F350 so they wear really nice but they have a tendency to clean out at high speeds so it rock chips your paint away on the undersides of the vehicle.

4 or 5 months; miles unknown until I get back

Dang. That sucks.
You really need a DD work runner or gx, with factory tires, you always find second hand take off from folks up sizing the tires and the factory tires always seem to last, until we start jacking around with the vehicles suspension upgrades....

Factory tires are absolute garbage... mine didn't make it 40k and my wife's tires didn't make it 30k...

Yes - the Hankook Dynapro A/Ts. We will see what they this afternoon.

So the manager at Discount Tire (recognized me which means I am in here too much) looked at all four tires and said it looks like I had a slight alignment issue when the tires were first put on but nothing in my tire record about it. That said; he said DT would sell me 2-for-1 because of that. So I am getting out of here cheaper than expected; now for the alignment work tomorrow.

You drive like you stole it.

I think I got 42/43 out of the rugged trails

My rugged fails lasted about 6-7k miles and then I lifted it.
