How well do the XDm pistols handle the recoil? Agree about keeping with similar calibers - so far all my pistols are 22, 380, or 45. Ironically the only one I can afford to shoot at the moment is the 45.

With the 9, recoil is very acceptable, like I said I shot both and the better pattern was way better with 9 vs the 40. Shot@10yd targets, quick draw with the 9, < 9in shot group, the 40 was <14in shot group, shot 100rds each weapon, to me a 4 or 5in difference is huge compared to torso size

I think you can change the 40 barrel out with a 9 and use same mags

ask some of the higher end gun ranges when they have gun reps come out and they usually bring a slew of thier guns to test shoot.

I would tell Ya, I did shoot a compact H&K .45 with hex barrel, not sure the model but the cost ~1k, very accurate pistol!!!

My buddy has the 45 xdm and honestly, we can both shoot his 45 better than my 9mm xdm. Very smooth, handles recoil great and is accurate.both are 4.5, his is ported.

I love my XDm .45. Shoots awesome! You can't go wrong the XDm .45

My .45 recoil is way less than expected. Its not bad at all. You planning on coming to Houston any time? I'll let you shoot my .45

Thanks for the offer; but I do not think I will be in Houston before I pick this one up. I did some hunting on the XD forums and it seems to me a solid gun all around.

Nope. Only complaint is the stock holster doesn't fit the TLR4 light I bought for it. Lol but pickup some griptape for it. Made a difference for me.

Went to a friends ranch on Saturday for a pig roast. I shot a 100 rounds through my AR. Shoots so soft and its so fun to shoot now.

Also shot 200+ rounds of skeet shot through my shotgun with the extension tube in. My buddy and I did speed reloading drills while shooting clay. Awesome time and really good practice.

Got a SKB hybrid case for my silver pigeon to replace that crap plastic case that Beretta deems sufficient. Damn nice for 64 bucks.

In Austin hanging out with my friends that work in the Capitol. They're saying open carry is passed but it will take about 6 months to go into effect. Take that as you will.

Correction - out the door for $318. I plan on cleaning the heck out of it today. I will probably run a couple hundred rounds through it on Monday or Tuesday. I need to pick up a couple more mags too.
