Finally got some range time with the XDm the other day. Overall I think it is a great pistol. The concern about the short barrel was put to rest pretty quick once I adjusted my grip for the compact frame. The accuracy was about the size of my outstretched hand for the first couple mags and tightened up as I adjusted my grip. I do not care for the trigger and it better shape up quick or it is going to upgraded. The sights could use some work; but for 90% of what it is doing it will be fine. The 9 shot compact mag is great; but the 13 round is hilarious. I have not shot a high cap pistol in years so I was getting used to that again.
Overall I think I will like it and will probably transition to using it for a CCW as soon as I get another compact mag here so I can have a reload.
*All shots were fired at a target at 10 yards. I will admit I prefer the sights and trigger of my Sig 220 over the XDm I think I can still be effective with it. I did get a quick word from the RO about rapid fire which the pistol handled quite nicely.
