Did you take them apart for a quick wipe down and uniformity check? I always try to do this with new mags before they get put into rotation.

I have heard that PMags are different; I just never had a problem with my steel mags to make me start buying those expensive fuckers.

What were the courses of fire like? I have seen a few 3 gun matches; but never a carbine only.

It was 2 shots center of target (no headshots) and one shot on metal targets. There were a lot of moving targets that made it fun. I'll definitely be doing this course again next year. I'll post up videos later.

Finally filled up my MTM AR magazine can. Ended up loading up 15 30rnd mags for the can and another 7 mags as spares. My thumbs are sore. But I'm a little worried about leaving the mags full for extended periods. All Magpul mags. Any thoughts?

I have heard people say that the top will crack after awhile but I've never come across this issue. I keep mine loaded (usually 29 rounds) all the time. I figure if the mag breaks, then it breaks and i buy a new one. But if the SHTF and I need it, I want to have all the firepower I need at my disposal rather than having a bunch of empty mags. If you have to replace the spring after a few years because it wears out, then it's not a big deal to go buy one and replace it.

"But Michael, what happens if after 3 years the mag spring wears out and the SHTF?!" Well then I'm fucked but at least I'll have full mags lol. I also shoot enough that I should know by that point that the spring is going out.

Last sentence is the clincher - shoot enough to test all your equipment on a semi regular basis.

Could just leave them empty and get one of these... assuming everyone keeps their ammo in nice 50 rns boxes.

This is pretty cool.

By the time you line up all the bullets you could've loaded the magazine already. My buddy had something similar at the shooting comp I went the other weekend and I was always finished loading before him lol
