I bet you could do it! I am not a CHL holder nor been trained as such and was just having fun at a range. I do not follow as to how commenting on my time with my family at the range would lead to a negative outcome in a defense suit that, in all likelihood, will never happen.I can probably hit the side of a barn with my sling shot....Texas CHL instructors teach COM, not head-shots and I would not boast about it on the www in case I was ever involved in a defense situation of my own, I would not want any extra legal attention.

Got a couple more boxes of 300blk in the mail. These must be made from solid gold for how expensive they are. Headed to the range tomorrow for accuracy testing of everything. Still need to set up a time to chrono it all and shoot a round of each into water jugs.

If you defended yourself and killed someone with very well placed shots, the argument in civil court could be made that you had enough skill to stop the threat with non lethal shot placememt.I bet you could do it! Plus, prove it.![]()
I've heard that before and it's a myth. Your lawyer would just argue that wounding someone does not stop them and then present thousands of documented cases of wounded people still being able to kill other people. If you defended yourself and killed someone with very well placed shots, the argument in civil court could be made that you had enough skill to stop the threat with non lethal shot placememt.

Exactly; the same for shooting a guy who "only has a knife". Anyone who is not concerned at the site of a knife has never seen what can be done with one.
I'm shooting to kill... I don't want someone who I paralyze come back and try to sue me. Plus if they are dead it isn't his word vs. mine.. Its my word.

I have yet to hear of a court case where a person used a firearm to defend themselves was convicted because they failed to only wound the attacker. This also ties into the only thing you say about the event; "I was in fear of losing my life so I shot to end the threat." That says nothing about killing; only about ending a threat.
