My buddy and my BIL both shoot 1000 yard shots with their BA110's and they both swear by a level on the scope.

I have a trigger shoe that made my Rem 700 trigger almsot 1/2" wide. It is awesome because I get a nice trigger pull in almost any position.

Um, Hell YES!

I bought a hard case for my rifle and after customizing the foam to fit the rifle with vortex mounted and a spot for my night vision scope I realized I have 5X as much invested in optics as I do in my rifle, lol. Totally the way to go IMHO.

After my range results on Monday, I have confidence in my ability to start shooting out to 500yds. So, I also picked up one of these:

It's not possible to do accurate holdovers if your scope isn't level :)

And this so I can get a good cheek weld while prone:

Nice! This is actually the European way of thinking. They'll spend a $1000 to $2000 on a rifle and then go & spend almost $10k on a scope for the rifle. It's completely bassakwards here in the states where guys will spend almost $3k on an AR and slap a $100 red-dot on it. If you can't see it, then you can't hit it. Also, Europeans will buy a few high quality guns and be done. In the states, guys hoard firearms like crazy.

Fawkin A'! I have everything I need to build my new AR precision upper except the Syrac gas block that I ordered in December. Sucks but the gas block's design and adjustments make it worth the wait. These gas blocks are sold out everywhere.

EDIT: Just found and ordered an SLR adjustable gas block. Should be here in time.

The Troy ambi mag release I installed on my AR lower broke off at the range. Troy is shipping me a new one today. I didn't even see that it was gone until Saturday night.

Have pics of the broken part? Considering how expensive those little parts are a break is not cool.

No I don't have a pic but it's the same as this pic I found online.

I shot at a Carbine match in Corpus Christi this past weekend and I did ok for my first ever match. Once I calmed down a bit after a couple of stages, I started doing a lot better. I definitely need more practice but it was a lot of fun and I wasn't really missing anything equipment wise which good to see. My new upper shot really well too and I had zero issues other than not seating a mag correctly while I was running to the next stage.

New upper is:
VLTOR upper (w.o. bolt assist)
SLR rifleworks adjustable gas block
Spike's tactical rifle length gas tube
Ballistic Advantage 18" SPR premium rifle length barrel
Miculek .223 gas brake
American Defense 30mm quick detach scope mount
Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x Miculek reticle scope with quick throw lever

Finally filled up my MTM AR magazine can. Ended up loading up 15 30rnd mags for the can and another 7 mags as spares. My thumbs are sore. But I'm a little worried about leaving the mags full for extended periods. All Magpul mags. Any thoughts?

Brand new mags? I usually fill my new mags half full for a month, then empty/fill them a few times, then fill them to your desired level. I still only load my mags to 28 rounds - old habits die hard.

Lots of people talk about "metal memory" in the springs and I have personally shot with 1911 mags that were originally issued in the 1950s without problems. That said - I still prefer to cycle the springs a few times and let them sit under the static load before loading and forgetting them. I rotate out my carry pistol mags and leave one mag empty each month - cheap insurance that it will work when I go to use it.

Makes sense. I'll let these sit for a week or so and then dump them and let them sit. Fuck I need a speed loader.

DarkHelmet

So you're saying there's a chance!
I was under the impression that it isn't the static load on the spring that causes issue, but the cycling of loading and unloading.

90% of the problems I have ever seen with magazines are bent feed lips and dirty followers causing tilt/feed issues. Everything beyond that becomes snake oil and old habits.

I'll cycle them several times. Just don't shoot it enough to go through all of them often enough but want them full if SHTF.
