In other news, I picked up an Adams Arms Small Frame .308. It's pretty frickin' badass. BIG firepower in a SMALL package

They took a normal AR upper and lower and stretched the magwell to accommodate 308. Almost everything else is the same as a standard AR-15 :)

It has an adjustable gas piston setup which is perfect for using with a suppressor.

Adams Arms Small Frame .308 - PATROL ENHANCED

Drew,
Did you happen to compare this with the Ruger or find someone/forum that did?

Manufacturer: Ruger
Model: Precision Rifle
Caliber: .308

I would kindly ask you leave discussions of suppressors to private measages only. My jelly meter has been pegged. :(

No, but considering I paid $850 for the Adams Arms one and the Ruger goes for ~$1600 and weighs 1lb more, I think I'm good :)

I'm thinking of getting one (ruger), they have awesome reviews from what I read, but heck $850 I would not have passed that up for sure

Is the Adams a semi auto or bolt action. Pretty sure the Ruger was a bolt action. It's been 6 months since I laid hands on it though.. Could be wrong.

Morning Glory needs some new laws. If you find your way to my part of Texas I will let you have some fun with my suppressed short barrel AR. It handles great.

Adams is semi on AR type platform

Ruger is bolt action, also AR type platform, many folks are buying the Ruger in 6.5cre out of the box and with good optics, 1,000 yd rifle all day long.

Yep! Only problem is they have a lot of tool marks left over from production and you can't find one on the shelf for a decent price. But you can't beat em for a $1200 sub-moa rifle in 6.5creedmoor. The other rifle I'm looking at is the Savage BA Stealth in 6.5 creedmoor

Ah, I thought you were talking about Ruger's piston 7.62 AR (SR-762). Their new bolt gun (Ruger Prescision Rifle) is a badass piece of equipment...

But, I shoot 1/2 MOA with my $500 Mossberg MVP Patrol at 300yds. And, again, it weighs 2.5-3lbs less than Ruger's offering (depending on the configuration).

I will be back again. I may be deaf by then but I shall return. :)

My father passed away a couple of weeks ago, April 20th to be exact at age 59, Sudden heart attack. He left this little project Ruger 10/22 unfinished, all that is left to do is finish floating the barrel, upgrade the stock trigger and sight it in. I decided to go with the Ruger BX trigger because it had mostly good reviews and an advertised 2.5-3 lb pull, not to mention that at $78 to my door from Cheaper than Dirt is 1/3 the cost of a Timney. I will get it installed this evening and sight it in this weekend. Hopefully I will like this trigger, it fells pretty good dry firing in the package, but if not I will put the BX trigger in my Takedown and buy the Timney for this rifle.

Sorry to hear about his passing but it looks like he had a sweet little 10/22 build going. I am curious how well that trigger works as well.

That's a pretty badass stock/22LR, that rifle is going to be a great target shooter and at those tree rats.

Wow. Passing of you dad is a tough one. I feel for you. It took me a month to break my habit of a daily call. :( The bright side for me was that it made me way more aware of how precious every day is. Our job is to make them count. (I lost mom, dad, grandmother and great aunt in a 12 month period)

That sucks Rob! Sorry for your loss but I'm sure he'll be very happy that you'll finish the project and use it!

Anyone have a Beretta Tomcat? I like the idea of a pocket carry. May 'pull the trigger' (btw I like the trigger pull on this one) on Tuesday.
