Speaking of which, just out of curiosity do you remember which side CV shaft you had break when you got those EMPIs? I ask becasue all of my bearing failures plus my CV failure, and axle seals and spider gear have been drivers side, only had to repalce one passenger side bearing. ASFIK the CVs, seals, and bearings are all the same driver to passenger so why would the drivers side be more problematic?I initially thought I had tweaked my frame or something but it's not just me, i've talked to some others on TTORA that have had similar issues all drivers side related.

Hmmmm, I wonder if the disco for the ADD is on the drivers side? I don't remember if it was or not when I tore the front apart to replace the spiders. I wonder if that is just the side that naturally receives more torque just because of the direction the forward shaft is turning?

ADD tube is on the passenger side. Meaning that the passenger side receives slightly less torque.

yep.. so if you are on a budget, only replace the driver side goodies. Unless you have a locker and then its fair game.

Interesting, I wonder what would happen If you did away with the add and locked the actuator in place then unplugged it so that the engage/disengage was at the transfer case only and both sides of the front turned all the time would that distribute the load or just cause both sides to have the shitty wear pattern.

This question? from the only person I know who has ever destroyed their spider gears.

Spider gears are highly over-rated. Weld those damn things together and call it a day.

This would be more on the side of not shitting bearings every 12K

Watch what you eat, shitting out bearings means you need more fiber.

If I only shit every 12K miles I might be glad to relieve myself not so much care about the bearings.

that having been said, I think the alternator in my 4runner just took ANOTHER SHIT!, I'm gonna do a full rebuild instead of replacing it with a high dollar POS re-man
