They seem to fall victim to mud splashing in to them.
that having been said, I think the alternator in my 4runner just took ANOTHER SHIT!, I'm gonna do a full rebuild instead of replacing it with a high dollar POS re-man
blow up betty
Good ideas guys. I am building my offroad supply box, and this helped with some thngs that I didn't think about. Luckily I have plenty of storage.

I have 2 of these!
There a place here in Tx that you can order them from called the command post, I drove down to one of there stores and got a good deal on some Ammo cans for me and Rob, I repainted the one for my truck because they has some rust but I still haven't mounted them yet.
Hmmm where did ya manage to find these? I am wanting some ammo cans for the bed for storage. Also, I don't know if it's been mentioned already, but a good air compressor is a good thing to have on the trails.
I actually picked these up for $5 a piece at a garage sale a few years back. They have been sitting in my garage not doing anything. They are water proof, and hold a ton of stuff. I loaded it up before I put it in my truck, and I could barely lift it up.
trash bags - can be used to hold empty beer cans or to catch diff fluid if you need to pull an axle.
Tire patch/plug kit
Spare fluids - brake, power steering, diff fluid, motor oil, transmission fluid, antifreeze and water
spare fuses - be sure to get all the various sizes
Duct tape - good for fixing vehicles and people
misc nuts and bolts
zip tie assortment
safety wire
paper towels - blue shop towels
waterless hand cleaner - Goop
small Gerber pack saw - thing makes quick work of most trail clearing
superglue - good for fixing people, closes up cuts fast.
topo map of the area - or a good GPS with those. I keep the Texas Gazetteer in the Taco
baby wipes - toilet paper always gets fucked up (wet,crushed.. etc).. plus you can use baby wipes to clean other things, not just your ass.
I carry a 25' extension cord and a florescent trouble light in the taco, since we have the inverter why not use it.
As for tools... well you'll want those odd sized sockets and wrenches, like a 35mm to swap out a CV axle, or a 55mm to swap a Birf.
Spare cash! - in case you need to call a cab
I take this when I wheel... just in case. I've since removed and altered some of the contents, but its pretty much the same.

I also have a smaller version I've put together for Clyde that uses a larger Camelback (H.A.W.G.) and straps to the back of my seat.
Eventually, I'm going to compile the items in this thread into a comprehensive list and post it in the Articles section
