I am currently waiting for a shipment of the stuff Dan at Wheelers sells. Once I get that Ill stop using the old Teflon spray crap.

What stuff does he sell?

Disregard.. found it. TriFlow Dry Lube. Man I used to use TriFlow back in the day on my BMX bike.. called it Banana oil because it smelled like banana's. Good stuff!!

So I tackled finding a spot for my aux CB speaker and I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

First I took the speaker apart. Cut the amp wire and threw on a male end just in case I use it later.

Then I cut the speaker from the backside and thought it would work here.

Well that spot wasn't going to work due to the placement of the seat belt so I soldered the speaker back together.

I still liked that spot so I figured out another way to make it happen.

Made a template of the speaker grill

Drilled 2 holes into the CC for a way to transfer the template to the other side.

Taped template to outside and marked with an exacto knife.

Cut out the plastic with a jigsaw and then did the fine work with a dremel.

CC is a little busy now, but I didn't use it for anything but as a trash can anyways

Now that I left the SWR meter attached and with the speaker the CB was sitting a little higher due to the wires so I cut some of the top off so I could close it without kinking the mic wire badly

Then it was time to trash the POS rusty steel quick disconnects and put on some good stainless and brass hardware

Now I just gotta find a nice big field and tune the antennas.

How tall is that front antenna?

The rest looks great. I'd just be worried about breaking a headlight or denting/scratching the fender...

4' tall front and back

here is an old pic with the old hardware.

All the front tabs on my headlights are broken off so if they take a good hit they will most likely just move instead of crack and some asshole drilled 6 holes in my fender so it's already FUBAR. I guess it's hard to see in the first pics but the antenna is about 2-3" away from the cab.

Really digging the tri flow for the uniballs. After today's wet sandy romp I cleaned them and minimal crap was stuck to them. It also goes on great.

Anyone have any idea why my front CV's are always spewing grime? I keep up on them just like the rear pretty much after every water logged trip, but the front is always dirty and the rear is always clean. Not enough use or are they going bad?

Wierd never seen that before, over filled last time you greased and the excess is just gradually making it's way out?

*facepalm* I meant U joints not CV's

Never seen 'em spew like that. Might be heating up spewing because they're going bad, like you suggested.

They only spewed because I fill them till the crud stops coming out and I see fresh grease.

I always overfill them. They can't be damaged cause they aren't sealed...or at least that's what I thought????

X2 just looks like fresh Mobil 1 to me?

Yup Mobil 1. I'm thinking they are full of crap due to lack of use when going through all the mud holes. I rarely need 4x4 in our trails. Guess they are just getting soaked with crap and it doesn't spin out.

Hey, wait a minute!!:mad::mad:

:D

nice CB speaker mod!!! and your truck... look`s cool too!

Thanks. Wish I had your welding skills.

Had some guys over Sunday for some minor mods.

Test fit my transmission and transfer case skids to see if I could make them work without modifying my exhaust. I was very close to making them work and ended up leaving them on, but they can't take a hit until I modify the Y pipe. That's taken care of and should be done within weeks.

Threw in some mesh (thanks Rich) to stop road debris from whacking my rad. Still gotta straiten them out and throw in the center piece, until I have cash for whats really supposed to be there. Not sure if I like it or not, but Ill decide when I finish.

Took off all the rust from hitting the rear bumper, having nothing between the tiregate and bumper, and driving with D rings in. Tiregate was left off until I get a weld fixed that cracked so I threw the spare in the bed with a cable lock.

Cleaned my engine bay and hood for the 2nd time ever

John's truck getting some Hellas

Collins truck getting some plasti dip to the bumper. Stuff looks pretty good and hid some dents well.

Anthony's truck getting some shifter mod done. No idea what it was, but they ended up doing the same mod to John's truck. I have no clue about manual's issues.

Changed the plugs and cleaned my air filter. All my old plugs were gaped less then .045. Pretty damn good for 30k IMO.

Never ended up getting my U bolts flipped, but I did give them some protection for the salt season

Then we figured a trip to the pit 5 minutes away from my house was needed.

One of these days this run is going to dent my bedside.

Was warm enough to wheel with the windows open for the first time in a while
