. Fawk I hope not. I wheeled with out a fuel gauge for awhile and it sucked. It always seemed to run out of has at the worst possile time. I would either figure out how to make the stock gauge work or throw an Auto Meter gauge in it.
But with my fuel cell its really easy to check the fuel level.. just pop the top and look inside. Plus I can well all weekend on about 5-6 gallons of fuel.. so my 15 gallon cell should be plenty.
No open-cell foam in that thing?
No, I was advised not to get it. Seems it breaks down and clogs up injectors.

Make sure you mount the cell with the pickup toward the rear of the tank Marcos ftoy had the pick up facing forward and it would starve for fuel on steep uphill climbs.
I've seen something you should have in addition to the fuel cell
