Speaking of which - how 'bout all of the plastic 'SS' plumbing hosing at Homo Depot? We were switching all the angle stops in our props with 1/4 turn and SS. She bought the plastic stuff (which I returned). I know it will probably last longer than I will but I just don't dig the faux SS.

I need a shitload of fittings and braided lines. So it will be a week or so until all that crap arrives and I get the right ones. Plus I'm having an internal debate. Do I just put in the bed.. or pull the bed and start a tube bed foundation and put it there?? Almost too purdy to just bolt it in. Go finish your flatbed so I have more inspiration to just pull my bed and start from scratch. lol BTW, where did you haul your bed off to?

remove your current bed, take it to the nearest metal recycler, take said profits and buy big pile of tubing/square stock then have at it.

I was thinking you should do a tube bed so you can mount it lower

Can't go much lower.. Maybe 3-4".. But that would be nice.

I'm sure it would cost me more in gas to get it there than it's worth. There is a dump 5 miles from here. But I do plan to buy a pile of steel this fall for it.. Just dont want to start premature... That's always bad.. Of wait that's when you finish premature lol

That looks sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!!!

Rip the frickin bed off tonight!!! Put it in the backyard, fill it with sand and let your daughter grow up with a REAL sandbox!!! Better yet keep it in the driveway. Put a tarp in it. Fill it with water and let your daughter have a wading pool!!! Your neighbors will love you!

But really, you know I love the tube bed idea! I like that one that had the ghosting of the stars and stripes on the aluminum panels!!!

If you are willing to link that beast:

Or if you want to keep your frame :)

Or if you just want to remove your bed, you could do this:

Well I think I'm gonna pull the bed. Probably will disappoint Kenna in that I won't be saving it for her. lol

But I think it would just be the right way to go. It means that I'll be taking a little more time to go wheeling again. But that's ok, its 105 out and I'm not planning to wheel anytime soon. :)

I would really like to link it.. but thats next years project. I think I'll do a simple flatbed in the center, with a lowered section up front for the fuel cell. It will come out to the width of the cab and then angle back to the frame in the rear. Same shape as the bed is now. This fall I'll take it over to my buddies and break out the JD2'd bender and build the rest. To include a mini exo up front. This will let me get the fuel cell installed and then work on the other items on the short list. new hydro assist.. new hiem steering.. stereo.. 30 spline chromo outputs.. radiator and hoses.. plus new sheetmetal and front bumper. Lots of crap to do.

There is a junk yard right down the street from me here in Leander. As a bonus- he has a 91 toyota pickup.Mostly the exterior through..
Doesnt buy steel, but accepts it. Wasnt worth hauling to a metal place in Austin for me.

Oh, and the cool part is you can just dump it right in front of the place any time of day...I dumped mine off at like 6am one morning.

If you are really thinking about linking the rear, that TG kit takes A LOT of time out of the equation and it's $200 off right now! :D You could tuck it next to the spare tires in the side yard!!!

I still say the cul de sac would be very busy right now with the pop ups, fans, tunes, sand blasters, plasma cutters, chop saws, welders, misters and keg!!! :D

If I just landed from another planet, I'd say we're all afraid to wheel!!! I better get out. Broker if you want to go on a very light wheeling trip with 120, we're leaving for the Sierras on Friday. PM me or check out the planning thread on toyota120. I was tenetive but since my nephew was accepted this week, I figured it would be a good escape. I'll be bringing Zoom (to hold my beer :D).
