Him and me both! The Taco is about done for a while. Next project is 4.7's in Clyde... then trade Clyde in. Then repair my car hauler... then wheel the balls of the new rig.

Ah shit, don't rub it in. I have to be careful who I hang with or I'll start another bad habit!

Might as well throw this in here.

Modified my GPS mount last night. Welded two bolts head to head and then cut one side down a little. Tapped the ball mount, threaded in the short side of the double-header :) and used JB Weld to keep it in place as well as build up the area around the ball mount. I then cut a secondary slot into one of the RAM mount arms to allow the GPS to face a different direction as the ball. Finally, I cut down the tightening handle to allow it to clear the gauge pod. Now I can see my gauges much better.

I ground down the clamp a little more just a few minutes ago and there is even more visibility. Now to just learn how to operate my GPS a little better. :)

Its actually in a much better spot. Before it was about 1.5 inches from the steering wheel.. too close, my hand would touch it sometimes. The new position puts it down and to the left a bit more. But still very accessible and the gauges are even more visible.

As for the GPS, I just never go "hiking" to use it, so this is the first time its been in the truck. So I know how to use about 30% of what it does. I'm even more tarded when it comes to that new 2M radio. :D

I found the NOAA weather radio channel on the 2M band.. 162.5 Mhz or something like that. It was coming out of San Antonio, 80 miles away or so... picked it up clear as a bell. So it works! Or at least it receives.

Found a place for the mic's

One for on-road and one for off.

The Nuvi has the ability to load up the 1:24000 Topo maps but its no where as usefull off-road as the Triton. Same for the Triton, it has roads.. but again, no where as useful as the Nuvi. Each has there place. The Triton mount is easily removed, leaving only a small ball in one of the mounting points for the oh-shit handle. It then can be moved to the 4Runner or other trail rig. I have two sets of mounts for it.

Damn dude. Starting to look like an airplane cockpit... Means you've got a "real" expedition rig

I have two also... the Nuvi with the 24k (also have loaded others from time-to-time - some good, some suck!) My other is a garmin that I use for backpacking - nice to find highlights in an area.

Would like one of these but I think it's a bit over kill. For racing it is sweet!!!
