I received an email about 30 minutes later thanking me for my application and saying I met the qualifications for the position and would be contacted with more info so I'm thinking it was a glitch as well. I'll follow up with them next week if I haven't heard anything by then.

Might be a standard assessment they give to all applicants, internal and external. Since you are internal they allowed your application. No idea.

Ahh.. ok. When you said the company I assumed you meant your company.

Thats great. Good luck man!

squeaky wheel always gets the grease

Sucks it's online. Always nice when you talk to someone in person so you can leverage their "humanity" and use it to your advantage

Appreciate it! I've out off applying to new places too long. Feels good to finally be putting g my resume out there. I received another email today saying I passed the online assessments and that my application had been passed to the hiring manager for that position and I'd be contacted after his review. Trying not to get my hopes up but I'm fucking ready to get the fuck away from where I am now. Even though this gig would be over an hour commute from my current house. Would just kick things into high gear on moving sooner rather than later.

I like your thought process. I need some self motivational pushes as well and fear now that I'm "staying here" once again after resigning Ill fall back in into the same trap I was in prior. I'm so worn out by the time I get home it's hard to motivate to work the second job for myself fixing stuff up. Got some done lats night but nothing like I would have if I was happy at work. It's amazing how much a crap job can take out of you if you let it. My main issue is I let it get to me. Even though it will get me over 10k in the next month between tires, windshield, commission check - I know if I had left last Friday like I wanted to I'd of gotten a ton of work done to my house the past week.

Watch out with looking for the house after you get the new job - not sure how your credit is and Roger can speak to this better but when I bought many many years ago they wanted you at your job for 2 years or some crap.

Any luck yet?

My boss had all employees come in yesterday at 6am so he could have all 25 of us in the same room including our guys that were working from home because they are old and have preexisting conditions. We had a talk about how safety is #1. No one was wearing a mask except a few of us, when it was done he ran around shaking everyone's hands, he forced everyone into a group then told us all to take off our masks for a company picture, and then told all our guys how this is a hoax and the heard mentality will win this war for us.

Today I find out he isn't in the office because he is taking his third Covid test. I swear there is nothing worse than a spinless hypocrite that puts on a show for everyone, but is really cowering in fear like the bitch he is. I respect people I disagree with that don't flip flop depending on who's listening 1,000% more than this POS. The moron even mentioned during the meeting that everyone should have masks on, but that no one really needs to put them on. Worst off he is going to take the test at my financial clients office so if he pops positive not only does our client know, but we most likely will lose the projects I am manning next week because they will force us to all stay away for 2 weeks and they must be done regardless of what company does them.

Soon as I get my commission check and new tires on my car.... I need to resign again for the third time.... I can;t keep trying to avoid litigation when he runs headfirst into it. I'd understand if he was morally apposed to Covid safety, but implemented it just to insure his company was fine and did not get sued. This moron is literally asking for trouble around every corner he walks.

All he needs to do is piss off one guy and all they have to do is call the Covid payroll loan commision/OSHA/etc. :BangHead::bash::BangHead::bash::BangHead::bash::BangHead::bash::BangHead::bash::BangHead::bash::BangHead::bash::BangHead::bash:

and I bet the idiot posted the company picture on LinkedIn or Instagram or some other website that slackers need to use to get business when they screw over their clients. I get my jobs through word of mouth and repeat business - he needs to market his crap because he turns and burns customers like a typical POS subcontractor. He is what makes us good subcontractors look bad to the public.

Yeah my brother-in-law is 30 and been in the plumbers union since he got out of high school. He went to some 5 years night school thing the union put him through, taught him more than just plumbing.

I don't know any union guys that are good and journeymen who make less than 6 figures. Takes a toll on your body though so you have to factor that in. Also why they have GREAT medical and good pensions.

Got a guy right now in the saem boat as me except better. Less than 40 years old, no debt, everything paid off, and he has toys (guns/quads/motorcycles) and hunts every weekend at his vacation camp (20 acres +).

heck most guys have shores houses (secondary vacation houses) and thats super $$$

+ everyone is "Essential" so the paychecks never stopped rolling in for most

Just had a conversation with a long time customer/architect who invited me to a guild meeting next month. Not sure what kind of special handshake or first born kids Ill need to promise them but Ive worked in this city almost my entire adult life and I never heard of them before so I'm guessing it's a secret underbelly of good people or bad people.... based on the "who we are" they seem to be the major players thus prob the underbelly

Oh I'm real curious. Even 1 good contact made could be a game changer.

Turns out he wants me to do a talk/class. We were bs'ing last night. Similar to a 30min-1hr AIA accredited "class" on glass that I used to do for architects when I was working for a mfg.

They need continued learning credits to retain their licenses. Just not sure if anything I do would be accredited since I'm now a sub not a mfg and have no "formal" education besides real life experience. He's looking into that

this should shake up the glass industry McGrory Glass Partners with Schott as its National Direct Distributor | USGlass Magazine & USGNN Headline News

& since it's been 3 years - the company I left to come here was McGrory Glass. Never a fan of letting anyone know in public where I work ,but here's where I used to lol

I founded and managed their engineered products division Door & Entrance Glass | Mcgrory Glass

When I came there 8 years ago they just sold glass - now their engineered products division is over 1/4 of their day to day biz

Man in hindsight I should of never left. Think I'd be up to 6 weeks vacation and would still be working from home right now if I had stayed.
