$350 won't break the bank and it can run off gas or liquid propane. Downside in a SHTF scenario is that it is going to be noisy and that can be bad. I also don't feel like I have a spare $350 to blow on something that likely will never get used.

...unless, or course, I take it camping....which would kind of defeat the purpose of camping.

Just talked to my wife and the TDA (Texas Dental Association) is talking about closing down all dental offices/clinics in Texas for a few weeks. No date set yet. So if you want to get some dental work done, better get it done now!

NJ Glass vendors just shuttered their doors. Just ordered an entire floors worth of glass on last Friday for delivery this Friday to my jobsite. Did my best to keep my guys working as long as they wanted to, but I will run out of work for them come this Monday. So even if they want to work, Ive got nothing for them to do.

The legal issues this is going to create w/o the Fed stepping in will create a pool of blood for the lawyers to swim in.

Just talked to my wife and the TDA (Texas Dental Association) is talking about closing down all dental offices/clinics in Texas for a few weeks. No date set yet. So if you want to get some dental work done, better get it done now!

Ive got a cavity Ive been meaning to get addressed, but I won't go until this crap blows over.

Tell you one thing, I "felt" prepared, but am anything but. Should of stayed on top of so many more things I procrastinated on. Ill be scrambling after work to get materials to keep me busy at home should I need to stay there for two weeks and am healthy. I could get a ton of work done around the house I wanted to do this spring ~ just wish I had all the materials staged already. Not going to sit around and watch TV all dam day for half a month. Ive already got spring fever now.....

8pm - 5am curfew enacted for all of NJ. It's not legal......so I don't "have to" adhere to it, but marshal law is coming. They keep hinting at it, but aren't making the real moves just yet.

"New Jerseyans should not leave their homes from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m."

As we all know 'can't' and 'should' are not synonyms

Thats my guess. They need to stop being so wishy washy. Either everything stays open or everything closes. Very simple, yet they keep trying to ride that thin grey line. My guess is they are doing this in hopes the unprepared actually prepare so when we do shut down people are ready. Last thing we need is panic followed by riots.

I'm set. Found my local cul-de-sac. Thank goodness for the local young republicans club & their presidents dad who is a friend. Back up food plan is a self sufficient freezer warehouse with about 150,000#'s of frozen beef and misc meets in stock right now. When everyone was busting his balls about going solar a decade ago he's still laghing back. Plus he has all the equipment in his yard needed to make about every episode of the A-Team that was ever aired

Not sure if that sucks or not....depends on what you and your family need. Hazard pay a possibility?

My guys are union and I'm salaried. I get days paid off and they get none for anything. Thats the price they pay for other items we don't have like....good health insurance and pensions.

I'm stuck at work as well. But they are doing it on a departmental level here because the head honcho's won't issue a WFH status. So the departments managers are saying screw them and telling their people to WFH. The head honcho's want to charge people sick or vacation days for not coming in.

My old company was the first in NJ to close. Wish I still worked there. When I told my boss he said "we are staying open until they force us to close".... He came in for 2hrs then left. I then cleaned out my office and took every file I needed + all my food from the office home just in case. Just got done setting up remote access to my work. I can and always coudl work from home for the office aspect. Obviously I can't measure a job nor can my guys work w/o jobsite access though. So while I can "work" from home......I had nothing to do in the office today anyway. I'm all caught up. Every i dotted and every t crossed.
