Just talked to my wife and the TDA (Texas Dental Association) is talking about closing down all dental offices/clinics in Texas for a few weeks. No date set yet. So if you want to get some dental work done, better get it done now!

Per the ADA that day is today... Ill just wait until it's an emergency so I can go in lol

They didn't end up closing down the dental clinics in Texas. Just told the dentist's that they could close if they wanted to or can deny treatment if the patient is sick with flu like symptoms.

It's a PITA for me to get an appointment before this crap because they are always so busy......once there is a backlog of 1-2 months it's going to be almost impossible.

no clue.

The death rate has many factors; country ability to deal with large amount respiratory infections. Iran could have a 5% rate. More folks in China probably died from starvation than Coronavirus. Europe has far more Dr.’s and hospital beds than the U.S. and they are overwhelmed and both countries have not peaked yet.

This time of the year, sinus infections are my biggest problem, many times leading into bronchitis then pneumonia, my doctor gave a script to get tested for COVID19, because she does not have Xray capability at their office.

Just got my coronavirus test results back. Damn, I’m glad I don’t have shit.

shoemakers kid and all.... play chess at work all day so when I get home it's checkers time

IMO the data they reference is not factual or right either.......lets wait two weeks or two months and we can come back, look at it, then blow holes in it (2%) when new data is established that differs. This is a fluid situation with millions of variables not a set % anyone can point at as being a scientific standard until it's over with IMHO.

Also who cares about a 1.4% difference? Based on their own data we are talking about the difference between 3.4% and 2%. I'd like to see the error % for each stat given and my bet is they overlap each other meaning that argument is just brain fodder.

Now on the flu comparison death % - who knows. Time will tell for sure who is right or wrong, but I do prefer they error on the side of caution vs stick their head in the sand. If they are off by 7.6 - 8% that's pretty shitty and that will kill what little respect anyone had for the WHO

Just got off the phone with a buddy who works for a large train company in the NE that specializes in people transportation. He said he expects mass transit via train in the NE corridor down to DC to shut down in the coming days. said his last run had 5 people on it + he only worked 2 days in the past week so that run is being stopped and he said more will follow. Not being shut down by the gubment - shut down due to lack of passengers. Said they are on call and have two hrs to show up to work. You miss a call you only get paid for what you worked that week. If thats the only call you get that week you are SOL. Take the call and if thats the only call you get that week they will pay you for 40hrs even if you only work 8. He's union and been in for 23 years but trains are a totally different ballgame ~ He doesn't even pay social security - the railroads have their own fund somehow

Yeah I've cut back everything. Whether it was the smart thing to do or not, I feel more comfortable having cash in hand right now. So I'm paying the bare minimum on everything right now. No extra payments on mortgage or car and cut my 401k down to just the 6% that gets matched. And cut off some nonessential services that I've been meaning to cut off for a while but never got around to. Figure worst case I dont need the extra money and when this settles down I can dump it all into my IRA or toward the principle on my house and then go back to my normal routine.

Just cut my 401k contribution to 1% until this crap blows over. After that I will bump it back to 5%.

Now is the time to buy into a bear market, not cut back on 401k contributions.

If y’all are wanting to save some cash look into refinancing, rates have never been lower, easy peasy to do. If your able minimum reduce your APR by atleast .5 % or more and plan on living/owning your current house for more than 28months....REFI!

Understand the idea; hard to apply the practice when I just started building it up.

your essentially buying more value at lower price, in a bear market, also never change contributions unless it’s a true emergency situation, and always increase contributions with raises, you didn’t have that money before so stash it away.

Not the first person to say that. The best advice I have been told is to buy at the bottom.

You think we are at the bottom? I don't.
